    • Still not swinging bat
Casas (ribs) still experiences pain when rotating and has not yet begun swinging a bat, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Casas has been taking grounders and hitting the weight room, but that he's not yet swinging a bat suggests he may not return June 21, the earliest he can be activated off the 60-day injured list. "Whenever he feels better about it and he doesn't feel pain, then [swinging] is the next step," manager Alex Cora said. "It's not about treatment or whatever. It just kind of had to heal on its own." While Casas has been sidelined, the Red Sox are getting by with Dominic Smith and Garrett Cooper at first base. Rotowire.com Today, 5:05 am

    • Returns against righty
Lowe started at first base and went 1-for-2 with a walk in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Lowe returned to the starting lineup against a right-hander following three consecutive games on the bench against a lefty. He was eventually removed for pinch hitter Robbie Grossman in the ninth inning against a left-hander. Lowe's line against southpaws in 2024 is down from his career standard -- .619 OPS this season compared to .761 for his career -- but that's still better than the alternative. Ezequiel Duran, who started at first base while Lowe was benched, owns a .604 OPS against lefties in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 4:48 am
    • Six-game hitting streak
Paredes went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored Tuesday against the Marlins.

Advice: Paredes delivered a two-RBI single in the fifth inning and came around to score in the same frame. He extended his hitting streak to six games with the performance, driving in five and scoring four runs in that span. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:47 pm

    • Goes yard again
Burleson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Burleson's gone deep in three straight games after a stretch of 12 contests without a homer. He continues to look ready for an everyday role, which has come at a convenient time with the Cardinals missing Lars Nootbaar (oblique) and Tommy Edman (wrist). Burleson is up to a .276/.308/.448 slash line with eight homers, 22 RBI, 17 runs scored, two stolen bases and six doubles over 182 plate appearances this season. • Smacks fifth homer
Diaz went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Diaz's third-inning blast gave the Astros a 6-1 lead, which was ultimately enough for the win. The catcher sat out the first two games of June, and he's responded with homers in back-to-back contests after going 39 contests without a long ball. He's up to five homers, 28 RBI, 20 runs scored, 10 doubles and a .249/.277/.383 slash line through 213 plate appearances this season. With his bat coming around, Diaz should be able to maintain a starting role at catcher over Victor Caratini. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:55 pm

    • Delivers off bench Tuesday
Wisdom went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Wisdom provided a game-tying blast as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning after replacing Michael Busch. Over his previous 15 games, Wisdom had gone just 4-for-31 (.129) with two doubles, three RBI and 11 strikeouts. He's now slashing .230/.304/.475 with three homers, 11 RBI, seven runs scored and three stolen bases over 69 plate appearances this season. Wisdom's slump during May didn't help his cause to see more than a short-side platoon role, primarily at first base with Busch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:30 pm

    • Yainer Diaz homers, drives in three vs. Cardinals
Yainer Diaz went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday’s win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Diaz put the exclamation point on a four-run third for the Astros when he sent a 367-foot shot to deep right field to put the Astros up 6-1. The homer marked Diaz’s fifth of the season, as he’s now homered in back-to-back games while driving in five runs over that span. Diaz’s three-RBI performance upped his RBI total to 28 on the season, which is good for fourth-most on the team this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:56 pm

    • Hunter Goodman goes 0-for-3 in third straight game
Hunter Goodman went 0-for-3 and struck out twice Tuesday in the loss to the Reds.

Advice: The Rockies will probably drop either Goodman or Sean Bouchard when Nolan Jones comes off the IL, and they’ve given Goodman three straight starts to help his chances of sticking. Alas, he’s gone 0-for-9, leaving him at .169/.222/.339 in 63 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:26 pm

    • Another multi-homer game
Mountcastle went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and a two-run shot during Tuesday's 10-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Mountcastle was a one-man wrecking crew Tuesday, launching homers in the third and fifth innings -- both off Bowden Francis. The outing was Mountcastle's second multi-homer game of June and the 10th of his career. The first baseman has been on fire during the O's last four series, a stretch where he's batting .388 with 11 RBI and 10 runs scored across 12 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:15 pm
