    • Takes seat against lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Pederson will head to the bench while southpaw Andrew Abbott toes the rubber for Cincinnati. Blaze Alexander will fill in for Pederson as Arizona's designated hitter. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:35 am

    • Plates three runs in win
Hernandez went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, three RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Giants.

Advice: Hernandez got his night going with a run-scoring double in the fourth and then capped things off by driving in two more with a triple in the ninth. It was his first triple of the season and his third time with multiple extra-base hits. He's been providing some clutch hitting as of late with 10 RBI over his last six games and now sits at third in the majors with 36 RBI for the season. The 31-year-old is slashing .249/.310/.497 with 11 homers, 28 runs and a 14:56 BB:K in 184 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:18 am
    • Swats fourth homer Tuesday
Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Rays.

Advice: It was a roller coaster night for the 23-year-old. Rafaela gave Boston a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning by taking Aaron Civale deep for his fourth long ball of the year, but his throwing error in the top of the 11th nearly gave Tampa Bay the win. The Red Sox were able to tie the game back up in the bottom of the frame, though, in part thanks to Rafaela's sacrifice bunt, before winning it in the 12th. Rafaela has collected a hit in 10 of 12 contests in May, batting .275 (11-for-40) on the month with two doubles and two homers, but his 1:11 BB:K is a warning sign that his numbers could swoon quickly as they did in April (.515 OPS in 26 games.) • Lourdes Gurriel Jr. goes 0-for-4 in loss to Reds
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts against the Reds on Tuesday.

Advice: Gurriel got off to a really fast start and still posted decent run and RBI numbers for a while after that concluded, but he’s been a mess lately; he’s batting just .160 with no homers and three RBI in his last 19 games. On the plus side, his strikeout rate is fine and Statcast thinks he’s been fairly unlucky to date. He figures to retain some mixed-league value going forward. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:52 pm

    • Rafaela homers in win over Rays
Ceddanne Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a home run and a sac bunt in a win over the Rays on Tuesday.

Advice: The 23-year-old got a little bit lucky on a 344-foot home run that was well-hit at 102.5 mph off the bat but would have only been a home run in eight MLB stadiums. However, it continues a solid stretch of production for the rookie who has gone 16-for-52 (.308) over his last 15 games with three home runs, 13 RBI, seven runs, and one steal. He still has 14 strikeouts to just one walk over that span, so his long swing will continue to be an issue for him as he adjusts to MLB pitching, but we’re starting to see some of the fantasy potential shine through, which makes him worthy of an add in deeper formats. • Kyle Schwarber returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Mets
Kyle Schwarber (back) is hitting leadoff and and lined up as the designated hitter for Tuesday’s game against the Mets.

Advice: The hope was for Schwarber was that he would be able to return to the lineup Monday, but the Phillies held him out for one more day as a precaution; although he did appear as a pinch-hitter. He’ll look to do damage against Jose Butto and the Mets after missing time with his back ailment. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:31 am

    • Back in lineup, as expected
Schwarber (back) will start at designated hitter and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Schwarber missed three straight starts with back soreness, but he was able to pinch hit in Monday's contest and is back among the starting nine Tuesday. The 31-year-old is slashing .216/.319/.399 with nine home runs over 40 contests for the Phillies this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:28 am

    • Goes yard in win
Pederson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Monday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Advice: Pederson has gone 11-for-35 (.314) with three homers and a 2:14 BB:K over 11 games in May. The slugger is up to five homers, nine RBI, 16 runs scored and a .298/.414/.543 slash line through 117 plate appearances in a strong-side platoon role at designated hitter. The 32-year-old has started the year well, but his strict platoon role likely means his 30-homer campaigns of yesteryear are unlikely to return. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:22 pm

    • Teoscar Hernández goes 0-for-5 against Giants
Teoscar Hernández finished 0-for-5 with three strikeouts against the Giants on Monday.

Advice: Hernández is having a terrific fantasy campaign with his 11 homers and 33 RBI in 43 games, but the .244 average, .307 OBP and 30.6% strikeout rate aren’t exactly encouraging. It’s a good thing he plays for the Dodgers, because Statcast thinks he’d have fewer homers hitting anywhere else and he also probably wouldn’t be batting with as many runners on base.
