    • Gleyber Torres out Saturday with groin injury
Gleyber Torres (groin) is absent from the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Red Sox.

Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Torres could be available off the bench on Saturday afternoon following an early exit from Friday’s game against the Red Sox due to right groin tightness after legging out a fourth-inning infield single. The 27-year-old infielder has been playing through a lingering minor groin issue for the last few weeks. It’ll be Oswaldo Cabrera at the keystone in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 7:15 am

    • Sitting Saturday
Torres (groin) isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Advice: Torres made an early exit from Friday's game due to groin tightness. Although he won't start Saturday, the Yankees are hopeful that the 27-year-old could be available off the bench, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Oswaldo Cabrera will get the nod at the keystone and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Today, 7:11 am

    • Alex Bregman hits three-run homer in Astros’ win
Alex Bregman went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and two walks Friday as the Astros edged the Twins 13-12.

Advice: Bregman’s seemingly meaningless homer made it a 13-5 game in the ninth before the Twins almost came all of the way back in the bottom of the inning. It was Bregman’s first homer since June 3 and 10th of the year. At .251/.314/.403, he’s been essentially a league-average hitter halfway through his walk year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • No-decision in Milwaukee debut
Civale allowed four runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Civale received a tough assignment in his first start as a Brewer, and he didn't do particularly well. Will Smith tagged him for two solo shots and Miguel Vargas added a two-run home run, though Civale exited the game in line for the win before the Brewers' bullpen blew the lead. The three homers allowed are a season high for the right-hander, and that could be a problem that crops up more since Milwaukee's American Family Field is more prone to homers than his old home park, Tropicana Field. Civale is at a 5.18 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 92:30 K:BB through 92 innings over 18 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Pirates. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:37 pm
    • Aaron Civale allows three homers in debut with MIL
Aaron Civale was charged for four runs in five innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: This was Civale’s first start as a member of the Brew Crew, and it’s fair to say it was a mixed bag. He gave up three homers — including two of the three that Will Smith hit in the game — but he also struck out eight and allowed only two other hits in the contest. The former Guardian and Ray has not shown any consistency in 2024, and Saturday was a pretty good example of the risks that come with using him as a fantasy option, especially against a team as good as the Dodgers. A (potentially) easier test comes next week against the Pirates. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:45 pm
    • Slugs 10th homer
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and two walks in Friday's win at Minnesota.

Advice: The veteran third baseman cracked a 404-foot, three-run blast off Kody Funderburk in the ninth inning for his first long ball since June 3. This marks the seventh season Bregman has reached double-digit homers in his nine-year career. Despite the recent power outage, the Houston third baseman has still been hitting well over his last 25 games, batting .295 (31-for-105) with 18 runs scored and 11 RBI. • Trea Turner smacks two homers in win over Braves
Trea Turner went 2-for-5 with two two-run home runs in an 8-6 win over the Braves on Friday.

Advice: Good things have come in pairs for Turner who’s two two-run shots off Max Fried gave the Phillies a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. This was also the second time in four games Turner hit two long balls and his fourth multi-hit game in five contests. Deuces are officially wild for Turner. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:50 pm

    • Aaron Nola strikes out eight in win
Aaron Nola allowed three earned runs across six innings in a win Friday against the Braves. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

Advice: Nola was fantastic in this one. His 21 swings-and-misses were the most he’s forced in a game this season and first time he’s hit that total since June 5th of last year. His vaunted knuckle curve stymied the Braves all night and Nola looked dominant despite the three runs. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:47 pm
    • Delivers quality start
Nola (10-4) yielded three runs on five hits over six innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over Atlanta.

Advice: Nola got through three shutout frames before coughing up a two-run shot to Austin Riley in the fourth inning. Ozzie Albies then knocked a solo homer in the sixth. It was the first time that Nola gave up multiple home runs since May 31, and he allowed just three in the entire month of June. He forced a season-high 21 swinging strikes Friday, with 10 coming on the knuckle curve. Nola has delivered a quality start in nine of his last 10 outings, including in four straight. During that 10-start stretch, the veteran righty has posted a 3.34 ERA while going 6-2. Nola will carry a 3.48 ERA into his next outing, which is currently lined up to be at home against the Dodgers.
