    • Homers, scores three times in loss
Henderson went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in a 10-8 loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Henderson hit a two-run home run in the first inning then walked and scored in the third. He later singled and scored in the seventh frame and added another walk in the eighth. Henderson registered his seventh-multi hit game in June and is now slashing .333/.436/.667 with seven home runs and 14 RBI this month. On the season, the 22-year-old shortstop is slashing .282/.383/.607 with 25 homers, 55 RBI, 69 runs scored and 13 steals over 305 at-bats. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:27 pm

    • Gunnar Henderson socks 25th homer in O’s loss
Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer on Tuesday in the Orioles’ loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Henderson took Guardians lefty Logan Allen deep in the opening frame for his 25th big fly of the season as part of another multi-hit performance. The 22-year-old franchise cornerstone has lived up to fantasy managers’ lofty expectations entering the year by delivering a robust .282/.383/.607 triple-slash line with 69 runs scored, 25 homers, 55 RBI and 13 steals over 78 contests. Triple-A Norfolk reinstated Holliday (elbow) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: As part of his recovery, Holliday will serve exclusively as a designated hitter for multiple weeks and refrain from throwing. The 20-year-old hasn't seen any big-league action since April and is slashing .259/.424/.455 with seven home runs and five steals over 245 plate appearances with Norfolk. • Jackson Holliday (elbow) returns off injured list
Oriole INF prospect Jackson Holliday was reinstated off the seven-day injured list by Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday missed 10 days while dealing with inflammation in his elbow. The 20-year-old top prospect will be back in the lineup, but only as a designated hitter for the time being. If Holliday performs well, he still has a chance to return to Baltimore before the 2024 season comes to an end. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:06 am

    • Progressing in recovery
Manager David Bell indicated this weekend that McLain, who underwent shoulder surgery in late March, should be ready to start swinging a bat soon, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. "He's pretty close," Bell said. When he starts swinging, there will be a step-by-step progression from dry swinging to tee work to soft toss, etc. "It's a very well-thought out progression that he'll have to take his time with."

Advice: Bell alluded to McLain being ready for action at some point in August but also noted it's a long process between now and then. The 2021 first-rounder hit 16 home runs with an .864 OPS in his rookie season last year over 403 plate appearances, so his return could potentially give the Reds, a team that ranks just 21st in OPS, some extra pop down the stretch. • Matt McLain (shoulder) close to resuming swinging
Reds manager David Bell told reporters Sunday that Matt McLain (shoulder) is close to resuming swinging a bat.

Advice: The Reds are in the process of mapping out a definitive timeline for McLain to return at some point in August as he works his way back from late-March surgery on his left shoulder. The 24-year-old middle infielder was excellent last year in his debut for Cincinnati and figures to make a significant impact for fantasy managers down the home stretch, if he can avoid any setbacks. He’s worthy of a speculative stash in deeper mixed leagues at this point, even if he’s a couple months away from returning. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:35 am

    • Drills two homers
Henderson went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, three runs scored, a stolen base and walk in Friday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: Henderson scored his first run in the third inning after drawing a walk and swiping second base. He then drilled a solo shot in the seventh inning and a two-run blast during the Orioles' seven-run eighth. He's produced back-to-back three-hit performances and has five multi-hit games over his last 11 appearances. Henderson owns a terrific .284/.381/.610 slash line with 43 extra-base hits and 13 steals through 74 games. Rotowire.com Saturday, 4:54 am

    • Gunnar Henderson homers twice against Astros
Gunnar Henderson went 3-for-5 with two homers, five RBI, a walk and a steal against the Astros on Friday.

Advice: That’s 24 homers in 74 games for Henderson. Many suggested that he’d fail to match his total of 28 homers in 150 games from his rookie season , but we’ll go out on a limb and say that he might actually better the total by one or two of 10 or so. Rotoworld Saturday, 12:08 am

    • Three hits, steal in blowout win
Henderson went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk, an RBI, one stolen base and three runs scored in Thursday's 17-5 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Henderson stayed hot Thursday, extending his hitting streak to 13 games and his on-base streak to 27 contests. Over the longer span, he's gone 32-for-106 (.302) with 17 extra-base hits, five steals and 22 walks. The 22-year-old is at a .279/.376/.589 slash line with 12 steals, 22 home runs, 50 RBI and 62 runs scored through 73 games this season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:08 pm
