    • Gausman allows one earned run in win over ChiSox
Kevin Gausman allowed one earned and four hits over six innings while earning the win on Tuesday against the White Sox.

Advice: Gausman didn’t face much resistance in this one, as the Blue Jays grabbed an early 3-0 lead in the second, which more or less put Gausman in cruise control against one of the league’s worst offenses. Gausman earned a win in three of his five stars this month, and will have a chance to start June off on a strong note when he makes his next scheduled start on Monday against the Orioles. • Hyde: Dean Kremer (triceps) to resume throwing
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Tuesday that Dean Kremer (triceps) will resume throwing later this week.

Advice: Kremer hit the injured list last week with a right triceps strain, so it’s an encouraging development that he’s ready to resume throwing already. The 28-year-old righty should rejoin Baltimore’s starting rotation mix at some point in mid-June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:40 pm

    • Close to playing catch
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Tuesday that Kremer (triceps) is improving and could be cleared to play catch soon, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kremer was placed on the 15-day injured list this past Friday, but it's looking like his absence might not last long. That said, it might be a push for the right-hander to return when eligible on June 5. More should be known on Kremer's potential timetable in the coming days. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Strong in return
Lodolo (4-2) allowed a run on five hits over 5.1 innings Monday, striking out three and earning a win over St. Louis.

Advice: Aside from Paul Goldschmidt's first-inning solo shot, Lodolo kept the Cardinals quiet while cruising to a victory. It was Lodolo's first start since May 11 after a trip to the injured list due to a groin issue. Before that IL stint, he lost two straight starts while coughing up eight total runs through 11 innings. Lodolo now owns a 3.12 ERA with a 46:9 K:BB through seven starts. His next outing is lined up to be on the road against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:32 pm

    • Nick Lodolo earns win in return from IL
Nick Lodolo limited the Cardinals to one run in 5 1/3 innings in the Reds’ 3-1 victory Monday.

Advice: Lodolo walked none and struck out three in an 81-pitch outing in his return from the injured list. It’s hard to say whether his body is going to hold up, but he’s a fine mixed-league SP while healthy. Rotoworld Monday, 6:00 pm

    • Resumes flat-ground work
Cabrera (shoulder) played catch from 60 feet Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cabrera had to be shut down again after throwing a bullpen session on May 17, but he's been cleared to try to ramp things back up. The right-hander has been on the injured list on two occasions this season with a right shoulder issue and there is currently no timetable for his return. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:38 pm

    • Reds activate Nick Lodolo from IL
Reds activated LHP Nick Lodolo from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Lodolo was off to a tremendous start to the season, with his 3.34 ERA and 43/9 K/BB ratio in six starts after returning from his leg injury from last year. The 26-year-old has yet to have arm problems in his MLB career but has been banged up continuously. The Reds will hope he can remain healthy for the rest of the season, but he is a risky start today after not making a rehab appearance prior to being activated. Carson Speirs was sent to the minors in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Monday, 10:26 am

    • Activated ahead of start
Lodolo (groin) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday ahead of his scheduled start against the Cardinals.

Advice: An extended bullpen session last Wednesday put Lodolo in the clear to return after the minimum, and without a rehab assignment. The left-hander has pitched brilliantly in between IL stints this season, posting a 3.34 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB over 35 innings. While he may not be available for 90-plus pitches right away in his return, there has been nothing to suggest Lodolo will face any major restrictions against St. Louis. • Blanks Cubs over five
Gray (7-2) got the win over the Cubs on Sunday, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and walking two. He struck out eight.

Advice: Gray was as sharp as ever, needing 74 pitches to cruise through five innings of work. The 34-year-old registered an impressive 14 whiffs on the night, and the sweeper was his put-away pitch, accounting for eight of the 14 whiffs. Gray is now fourth in the majors with seven wins and has seven starts allowing two runs or less. Gray will carry a 2.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 67:12 K:BB into a tough road matchup against the Phillies this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 5:38 am
