However, Duran would coax a game-ending groundout from Vinnie Pasquantino, earning his ninth save in as many chances to open the year.       Jhoan Duran allowed two runs (none earned) and picked up the save against the Royals on Thursday.



      Advice: The save was Duran’s ninth of the year. A missed catch error on first baseman Carlos Santana made the two runs that scored on Bobby Witt Jr.’s single unearned. With nine saves already, Duran remains perfect in save opportunities this year. He has rewarded patient fantasy managers that drafted the closer who was injured to begin the season.

      Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Lowe (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham this weekend and hopes to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday versus the Marlins, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

      Advice: Last week, Lowe made his second trip to the IL this season with a right oblique strain. The strain was deemed mild, allowing him to resume baseball activities ahead of this weekend's rehab assignment.       Josh Lowe (oblique) will play for Triple-A Durham this weekend as he nears a return.

      Advice: The plan is for Lowe to play all weekend with Durham and, if all feels good, he could return to the Tampa Bay lineup on Tuesday against the Marlins.       O'Hoppe went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees.

      Advice: O'Hoppe went down on strikes in each of his first two at-bats before launching a solo home run off Luis Gil in the bottom of the seventh to bring the Angels back within one run of New York. It was the young catcher's fourth long ball in May and the third in his last seven games.
