Brewers have no plans to use Sal Frelick at third
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said he’s open to playing Sal Frelick at third base with Garrett Mitchell back, but that he has no immediate plans to do so.
Advice: Before Mitchell suffered a fractured finger at the very end of the spring, it looked like the Brewers would mostly play Mitchell in center and Frelick at third, with Joey Ortiz serving as a utilityman. Ortiz, though, has earned regular playing time, and Frelick has totaled just four innings at third base since the season started. Frelick is getting the nod over Mitchell in center field tonight, and it seems clear he’s the higher of those two and Blake Perkins on the depth chart for the moment.
