    • Fans seven for Jacksonville
Cabrera (shoulder) threw four scoreless, no-hit innings for Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, striking out seven and walking two.

Advice: The right-hander built up to 60 pitches (37 strikes) as he closes in on a return to the big-league rotation. The Marlins moved Cabrera to the 60-day IL over the weekend, which will prevent him from being activated until early July, but he should be ready to rejoin the team's staff as soon as he's eligible. Through five MLB starts this season, Cabrera has a 7.17 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB through 21.1 innings. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

    • Next rehab outing set
Marquez (elbow) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marquez made his most recent rehab outing Saturday with High-A Spokane and threw 58 pitches while recording four scoreless frames. He'll head to the highest level of the minors to put the finishing touches on his rehab from Tommy John surgery and could return in early July. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago
    • Outrighted to Triple-A
The Yankees outrighted Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Advice: It's the second time since April that Andrews has been outrighted after departing the Yankees' 40-man roster. Whether he accepts the assignment and remains in the organization or elects free agency is not yet known. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago
    • Starts rehab assignment
Quijada (elbow) struck out the side in his first rehab appearance with the Angels' Arizona Complex League affiliate Wednesday.

Advice: It's a promising start as Quijada continues down the comeback trail from last May's Tommy John surgery. The left-hander will eventually move up to a higher affiliate and figures to need most, if not all, of his allotted 30 days during his rehab assignment. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

    • Beginning rehab assignment
Ferrer (shoulder) has been sent to the Nationals' Florida Complex League affiliate to begin a rehab assignment.

Advice: Ferrer has been out all season with a strain of the teres major muscle in his right shoulder but has finally been cleared for game action. The lefty's rehab assignment should be fairly lengthy given how much time he's missed, and he's not a given to be added to the major-league roster once his time on the IL is over. • Secures 14th save
Doval picked up the save over the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing one hit over a scoreless ninth inning while striking out one.

Advice: Doval entered the contest with a one-run lead in the ninth and surrendered a leadoff single to Dansby Swanson before retiring the next three batters in succession to secure his 14th save of the campaign. The right-hander has now converted each of his last five save attempts and has allowed only one baserunner over his last three appearances. Doval has also posted at least one strikeout in three consecutive outings. Rotowire.com Today, 6:11 am
    • Clean ninth inning
Chapman struck out two without allowing a baserunner across a scoreless ninth inning against the Reds on Wednesday.

Advice: Chapman entered the game in the ninth inning with a five-run lead, marking his first appearance since Saturday. He struggled to begin the season but has pitched well for significant stretches, most recently allowing two earned runs across 8.2 innings in June while posting a 13:4K:BB. Chapman should see most of Pittsburgh's save chances while David Bednar (oblique) is sidelined. Rotowire.com Today, 6:11 am
    • Heads back to minors
The Pirates optioned Bruihl to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.

Advice: Bruihl made one appearance during his most recent stint in the majors, allowing two runs while recording just one out. The Pirates will announce a corresponding move prior to Friday's game in Atlanta. Rotowire.com Today, 6:09 am
    • Matt Manning working on delivery at Triple-A
Matt Manning was not called up when the Tigers needed a starter this week because he’s working on tweaking his delivery at Triple-A Toledo.

Advice: “Matty is still working on delivery,” manager A.J. Hinch said. “He’s still working on execution. There are plenty of things that we still want him to do.” One of those things is likely getting left-handed hitters out. Between MLB and Triple-A action combined, left-handed hitters are hitting .304 off Manning with a .893 OPS. The 26-year-old has a 4.88 ERA with 12 walks and 23 strikeouts across 27⅔ innings in five appearances for the Tigers this season and a 5.68 ERA with 13 walks and 42 strikeouts across 38 innings in eight games for the Mud Hens. “We also want the guys down in Triple-A to not assume, as well,” said Hinch. “You gotta give opportunity to guys that you feel good about. It’s not just one person because we’re used to it. He’s still got to earn his way like everybody else.” It sounds like Manning still has work to do before he earns another chance.
