      Povich (1-2) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out three without walking a batter over five innings to earn the win Saturday over the Rangers.

      Advice: He gave up a couple of solo home runs, but Povich ended up earning his first career win after Heston Kjerstad put the Orioles ahead with a grand slam in the fifth inning. After allowing six runs in his debut, Povich has given up a total of six runs across his last four outings. He's at a decent 4.05 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and 17:10 K:BB through 26.2 innings over five starts. The Orioles had discussed going to a six-man rotation before a rough stretch of pitching injuries in June, so it's unclear if Povich will stick around in the majors once Dean Kremer (triceps) returns from the injured list, which could happen next week.       Craig Kimbrel walked two, but didn’t give up a run while picking up a save Saturday against the Rangers.

      Advice: Kimbrel walked Leody Taveras to lead off the inning and then gave up a stolen base to the outfielder, and he then got the next two outs. He issued another free pass to Josh Smith, but he was able to get Adolis Garcia to fly out and pick up the save. Crisis averted. Kimbrel has 19 saves and a 2.37 ERA in the first half of 2024.       Michael Lorenzen went five innings while allowing five runs in a loss to the Orioles on Saturday.

      Advice: Lorenzen gave up two homers in the loss, and one of those was a grand slam to Heston Kjerstad. The other was a solo shot, as you could probably guess if you are decent at math. The right-hander clearly didn’t have his best command, as he gave up the two roundtrippers and also issued four walks against three strikeouts.       Cade Povich held the Rangers to two runs while working five innings in a victory Saturday.

      Advice: Both runs allowed by Povich came on solo homers. He gave up a shot to Corey Seager in the first before Seager left with a wrist injury, and another to Derek Hill in the fifth. Outside of that it was a strong outing for the 24-year-old rookie that saw him strike out three and not issue a walk. As long as Povich throws strikes, he’s got the stuff to succeed at the highest level. He has a friendly match-up scheduled for Friday against Oakland. Rotoworld Today, 7:15 pm

      Advice: The 28-year-old hurler struggled in a no-decision against the Astros on Saturday, giving up four runs over 5 1/3 innings of work. On the season, he holds a disappointing 5.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and a 49/19 K/BB ratio across 39 innings over his eight starts. The Mets will utilize the roster spot to add a fresh arm to their bullpen and will then likely utilize either Christian Scott or Jose Butto to fill the void in their rotation next week against the Nationals. He's picked up five saves over 11 outings in June while surrendering four runs and posting a 16:1 K:BB across 10.2 innings for the month. Overall, he's 12-for-13 in save chances with a 3.68 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 59:11 K:BB through 36.2 innings this season, with the Astros' mediocre play being the main reason for his reduced saves total, though the team is trending up by going 9-2 over the last two weeks.       Advice: Megill started Saturday's 9-6 loss to Houston, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts across 5.1 innings. He didn't factor into the decision. As the Mets maneuver around Edwin Diaz's 10-game suspension, they're expected to call up a reliever to fill Megill's spot and eat innings in the coming days before having Christian Scott or Jose Butto brought up to start in Megill's regular rotation slot.
