    • Earns first save
Puk earned the save Tuesday against the Tigers, delivering a scoreless 10th inning in a 1-0 victory.

Advice: After the Marlins finally opened the scoring in the top of the 10th inning, Puk induced three straight flyouts in the bottom half to strand the free runner at second and earn his first save in his second appearance out of the bullpen this season. Puk spent three weeks on the IL with shoulder fatigue after struggling mightily to a 9.22 ERA in four chances as a starter. The 29-year-old left-hander certainly had more success out of the bullpen last season, when he pitched to a 3.97 ERA with 15 saves in 56.2 innings. Puk was immediately inserted back into a high-leverage role, though he'll likely work primarily as a setup option ahead of Tanner Scott. Rotowire.com Today, 9:01 pm

    • Collects win Tuesday
Hader (2-3) allowed a walk and struck out three over two scoreless and hitless innings to earn the extra-inning win over the Athletics on Tuesday.

Advice: After starter Ronel Blanco was ejected for the alleged use of a foreign substance, this became a bit of a bullpen game for the Astros as they looked to protect a 1-0 lead. Ryan Pressly couldn't maintain the lead in the eighth inning, but Hader pitched well in the ninth and 10th, and he got the win after Victor Caratini delivered a walk-off hit as a pinch hitter. Hader's active 4.1-inning scoreless streak is his longest of the season. He's now at a 4.74 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB with five saves in six chances over 19 innings this season. • A.J. Puk earns save in win over Tigers
A.J. Puk pitched a scoreless 10th inning to earn his first save of the year in a 1-0 win over the Tigers.

Advice: He’s back! After Puk was a disaster as a starting pitcher to begin the year, the Marlins transitioned him back to the bullpen while he was on a rehab assignment and then immediately thrust him into high-leverage outings. Tanner Scott did pitch the ninth in a tie game on Tuesday, but he also allowed one hit and walked one which has been par for the course for him this year. For his part, Puk allowed three soft fly outs to strand the extra runner in the bottom of the tenth inning and secure the save. There’s certainly a chance he claims back the closer role from Scott, so he should be added in all leagues just in case. Rotoworld Today, 6:37 pm

    • Available Tuesday
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Fairbanks (finger) is available for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The right-hander was unavailable Monday due to a cut on his index finger, but he's good to go for Tuesday's contest. Fairbanks was reinstated from the injured list Saturday and delivered a scoreless frame in his lone appearance since being activated. Rotowire.com Today, 3:35 pm
    • Pete Fairbanks (finger) ready to close on Tuesday
Pete Fairbanks (finger) is available on Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Fairbanks was unavailable to close on Monday night at Fenway Park due to a small cut on his right index finger, which led to Jason Adam converting a save chance. However, it doesn’t sound like an issue heading into Tuesday’s showdown. Rotoworld Today, 3:18 pm
    • Dealing with cut on throwing hand
Fairbanks was unavailable to pitch Monday night against the Red Sox due to a cut on his right index finger, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Manager Kevin Cash is hopeful Fairbanks will be available out of the bullpen for Tuesday's matchup. Jason Adam handled the closer duties Monday and could be called upon again Tuesday if Fairbanks can't go. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:31 pm
    • Pete Fairbanks unavailable due to cut on finger
Pete Fairbanks was unavailable Monday because of a cut on his right index finger.

    • Back from bereavement list
The Brewers activated Payamps (personal) from the bereavement list Monday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Payamps missed the last three games but will rejoin the rotation for the start of Milwaukee's series against the Pirates. He seems to have fallen behind Trevor Megill in the Brewers' bullpen hierarchy but could still find himself in the mix for saves. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:08 pm

    • Brewers reinstate Payamps from bereavement list
Brewers reinstated RHP Joel Payamps from the bereavement list.

Advice: Payamps will be available tonight after a weekend away. He’ll probably pitch in front of Trevor Megill for the most part. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:22 pm
