    Advice: The Giants were faced with a 40-man roster crunch after losing a pair of catchers to injury, so they needed to free up a spot to add Jakson Reetz on Sunday and White was left as the odd-man out.     Advice: The Cubs are getting Justin Steele (hamstring) back this week and Kyle Hendricks (back) could return next week, but Wesneski earned at least one more turn in the rotation. Wesneski blanked the Brewers over 6.1 innings while striking out eight Friday, marking the first time he has logged over four innings in the majors this season. He has a 0.54 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and a 14:3 K:BB in 16.2 innings across four appearances. Ben Brown could be the odd man out, unless the Cubs go with a six-man rotation this week.     Advice: The right-hander was optioned to El Paso on April 26 after making a couple starts for San Diego, and he'll rejoin the big club Sunday since Joe Musgrove (elbow) landed on the injured list. Vasquez allowed five earned runs with a 5:3 K:BB over 7.2 frames in his two outings and could step into the rotation for Musgrove, who had been scheduled to pitch Tuesday against the Cubs. The right-hander had a 5.87 ERA over 7 2/3 innings in his two appearances with San Diego before being demoted, and he’ll be a matchup-dependent streamer for those looking to take a chance in the early portion of the year.     Brogdon (foot) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

    Advice: Brogdon is ready for game action again after he was placed on the 15-day injured list April 13 due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot.     Advice: Kelly tweaked his groin while fielding a grounder in his relief appearance in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks, but a few days off was apparently all he needed to overcome the issue. He returned to action Friday to gather his fourth hold in as many appearances.     Advice: The 26-year-old appears to have avoided a serious injury after being struck in the leg by a 107-mph comebacker, which prompted his exit during the third inning Sunday.
