    Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw 15 pitches in a bullpen session Saturday.

    Advice: It’s the first session for Cole since March when the right-hander was shut down with nerve inflammation in his right elbow. The next step is likely another session in the pen for the 33-year-old, but it’s a positive sign with Cole reportedly “giddy” over how things went.     Advice: Despite allowing a fair amount of traffic on the bases, Lorenzen was able to keep the Royals' bats quiet for six innings outside of a fifth-inning solo home run off the bat of Hunter Renfroe. Lorenzen now sports a 3.52 ERA through across 23 innings through his first four starts, and he should have an opportunity to stay hot as he faces the A's in Oakland on Wednesday.     Advice: Although Singer turned in yet another strong outing Friday, his contributions will go unrewarded as the Royals were unable to take the lead until after the 27-year-old was relieved, giving the win to John Schreiber instead. Though Singer didn't get the win, his 2.45 ERA and 42 strikeouts through 40.1 innings on the season still give fantasy managers plenty of reason to be pleased with his performance to begin the year.     Bibee (2-1) took the loss Friday against the Angels after giving up six earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out four batters across five innings.

    Advice: Coming off an incredible seven-inning shutout performance against Atlanta in his last start, Bibee turned in one of his worst performances of the season against an injury-riddled Angels lineup. He gave up a solo homer to Nolan Schanuel in the third inning before allowing four more runs to score in the fifth, capped off by a three-run shot from Mickey Moniak.     Soriano (1-4) earned the win Friday against the Guardians, surrendering five hits and a walk while striking out three batters across six scoreless innings.

    Advice: Friday was a much-needed bounce-back outing for Soriano, who gave up four runs in 1.2 innings during his previous start against Minnesota. He rarely found himself in trouble versus Cleveland aside from the fifth inning, when the Guardians had runners on second and third base with one out, but a well-timed groundout followed by a walk and a strikeout allowed Soriano to maintain his shutout.     Stroman came away with a no-decision Friday against the Tigers after giving up one earned run on three hits and five walks while striking out three batters across 5.1 innings.

    Advice: Despite the Tigers' ability to reach base regularly against Stroman, a bases-loaded walk from Colt Keith in the sixth inning was the only way Detroit was able to break through on the scoreboard against him. A quiet night from New York's offense also put Stroman at risk of taking his second loss of the season, but a two-run ninth inning allowed the Yankees to steal the victory from Detroit while handing the right-hander a no-decision. Olson has been dialed in over his last four starts, compiling a 1.54 ERA and striking out 25 batters across 23.1 innings, but he has an 0-3 record to show for it. The strong run has at least lowered his season ERA to a tidy 2.70. The righty will look to keep pitching well and hopefully get a bit more run support in his next appearance, which is tentatively set for Wednesday against the Guardians.     Advice: Winn entered a 1-1 game to start the seventh inning and allowed four singles before his removal. The 24-year-old breezed through his introduction to MLB, throwing seven scoreless innings over five outings (zero hits, one walk, seven strikeouts) before facing his first adversity Friday. Texans general manager Chris Young raved about the right-hander to Kenndi Landry of MLB.com earlier this week, noting Winn was attacking the strike zone.
