    • Paul Goldschmidt powers Cardinals past Cubs
Paul Goldschmidt clobbered a pair of two-run homers on Sunday night, powering the Cardinals to a 4-3 victory over the visiting Cubs.

Advice: The 36-year-old slugger opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 424-foot (110.0 mph EV) two-run shot off of Javier Assad in the third inning. He then repeated the process in the fifth inning — that time a 399-foot (104.3 mph) two-run bomb. Goldschmidt finished the evening 2-for-4, raising his season-slash to a still disappointing .222/.298/.345 to go along with six homers, 21 RBI and three stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:20 pm
    • Turner to be ‘pulled back’ on rehab with soreness
Phillies manager Rob Thomson told reporters that Trea Turner (hamstring) is dealing with soreness and he’ll be “pulled back” on his rehab.

Advice: “How long, I don’t know,” Thomson said. “I’m not really concerned at this point.” Turner is working his way back from his left hamstring strain, and he ran at a higher intensity Saturday as he attempts to make a quicker return than anticipated. It’s concerning to see, but it’s also possible this is just precautionary. A rehab assignment will assuredly be needed before he can return. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:15 am

    • Getting breather Sunday
Raleigh is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Raleigh will receive some routine maintenance for Sunday's day game after he started behind the plate in both of the previous two days. Seby Zavala will get the nod at catcher in the series finale. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:14 am

    • Sitting vs. southpaw
Mullins is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale against the White Sox.

Advice: With the White Sox sending left-hander Garrett Crochet to the mound Sunday, the lefty-hitting Mullins will take a seat for the second straight game. Mullins pinch hit in the seventh inning in Saturday's 5-3 win, striking out in his only at-bat. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:13 am
    • Cedric Mullins out Sunday against White Sox
Cedric Mullins is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.

Advice: Mullins will get a day of rest with southpaw Garrett Crochet on the mound. Colton Cowser is getting the start in center field and he’ll hit ninth while Mullins gets a break. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:49 am
    • Resting Sunday
Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Seattle, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Young will get a break after starting the last seven games at center field while going 6-for-23 with three RBI. With Young and Jesse Winker (quadricep) on the bench, Ildemaro Vargas, Victor Robles and Eddie Rosario will form the Washington outfield from left to right. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:47 am
    • Cal Raleigh gets Sunday off against Nationals
Cal Raleigh is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Nationals.

Advice: Raleigh gets a break after going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts against the Nationals on Saturday. The power-hitting catcher will rest with Seby Zavala getting the nod at catcher. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:52 am

    • Springer, Kiermaier not starting Sunday vs. Tigers
George Springer is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt against the Tigers.

Advice: Both Springer and Kevin Kiermaier are not in the lineup for the series finale against the Tigers. Daulton Varsho is handling center field while Cavan Biggio gets the start in right field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:17 am
    • Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) in lineup Sunday vs. CIN
Shohei Ohtani (hamstring) is in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Reds.

Advice: Ohtani will get the start as he continues to play through the right hamstring contusion. The 29-year-old didn’t look at 100 percent while picking up a triple during Saturday’s contest, but it’s obviously a positive to see that he’s able to play through the issue.
