    • Javier (neck) could rejoin Astros during road trip
Cristian Javier (neck) could rejoin the Astros rotation during their upcoming road trip.

Advice: Javier didn’t pitch particularly well Saturday during his rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi, but the three runs allowed over 3 1/3 innings aren’t what’s important. What does matter is that Javier felt good after the start, and he was able to throw 68 pitches. The Astros really need the rotation help right now, and while they won’t rush Javier back, the chance for a return in the next week or so looks promising. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago

    • Shifts to Triple-A's 60-day IL
Triple-A Round Rock transferred Church (shoulder) from its 7-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Advice: Church doesn't look as though he'll be ready to return to action for Round Rock until around mid-June while he recovers from a right shoulder strain. The 23-year-old reliever was originally placed on Round Rock's 7-day IL on April 18 due to the injury. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago

    • Undergoes follow-up
Lawlar (thumb) had a five-week postoperative follow-up last week and has been cleared to begin a strengthening program, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: After Lawlar completes a one-week strength and conditioning program, the shortstop will advance to a baseball projection. In two weeks time, he'll be assessed for his response to baseball activity. If all goes well, the organization will begin prepping Lawlar for activation, which presumably includes a minor-league rehab assignment. It's unclear if the team will employ him in the majors or assign him to Triple-A Reno. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago
    • Returns from IL on Friday
Kelly (shoulder) was reinstated from the 7-day injured list Friday and struck out one over a scoreless inning of relief in Triple-A Round Rock's 13-1 win over Albuquerque.

Advice: Kelly was shelved for just under a month with a shoulder injury before he returned to action for Round Rock earlier this week. The southpaw has made four appearances out of the Triple-A bullpen this season, striking out six while allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
    • Jose Urquidy (forearm) has live BP moved to Tuesday
Jose Urquidy (forearm) had his live bullpen session pushed back to Tuesday.

Advice: Urquidy was scheduled to make that live BP session Sunday, but he’ll get a couple extra days before returning. The right-hander was able to throw 30 pitches in a similar session Wednesday, and he likely will up that total a smidgen once it takes place. Urquidy could be back with the Astros and their injury-riddled rotation by the end of May. Rotoworld 8 minutes ago

    • Starting Sunday after all
Keith will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Keith had been in line to receive Sunday's game off with southpaw Nestor Cortes taking the hill for New York, but the rookie was a late addition to the lineup after outfielder Wenceel Perez (illness) was scratched from the starting nine. As a result of Perez's removal from the lineup, Matt Vierling will move from third base to right field, while Andy Ibanez shifts over to the hot corner to open up second base for Keith. • Strong start at Amarillo
De Los Santos was named the Texas League Player of the Month for April after leading the circuit with 32 hits, seven home runs and 58 total bases for Double-Amarillo, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: De Los Santos spent the spring with the Guardians, who selected him in the Rule 5 draft, but he did not make Cleveland's roster. The 20-year-old native of the Dominican Republic picked up at Amarillo where he left off in 2023. De Los Santos was added to the development list in 2023 following a rough start, but he crushed Double-A pitching in the second half of the season, posting a .322/.340/.596 line after July 14. The power-hitting prospect made strides at the plate while with the Guardians, developing a more "major league approach," according to Amarillo manager Tim Bogar, who feels the experience in a major-league spring training camp was helpful. To become a well-rounded prospect, De Los Santos needs to work on his defense. He played both third and first base since being signed as a 16-year-old, but the organization plans to limit him to first base only going forward. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago
    • Faces hitters in live session
Senga (shoulder) completed a 32-pitch live batting practice session Saturday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Facing hitters in extended live BP session marks a major milestone in Senga's recovery from a right posterior shoulder capsule strain, which caused him to miss most of spring training and resulted in him opening the season on the 15-day injured list before he was shifted to the 60-day IL on April 10. He won't be eligible to make his season debut until May 27, but Senga appears on target to return on or around that date based on where he currently stands in his recovery. The Mets will see how he bounces back from Saturday's throwing session over the next couple of days before deciding whether he's ready to report to a minor-league affiliate to begin a rehab assignment, or if he'll need to throw another live BP before doing so. • Steven Kwan undergoing MRI on left hamstring
Steven Kwan underwent an MRI on his left hamstring.

Advice: The Guardians are currently awaiting the results of the imaging before making a roster decision. Kwan left Saturday’s game because of tightness in the hamstring, and he’s not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s finale against the Angels. A trip to the injured list can’t be ruled out, and Zack Meisel of The Athletic suggests that Kyle Manzardo could be a roster replacement if that takes place. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago
