      Advice: Stroman has pitched into the eighth inning in two of his last four starts, allowing just three runs over 26.2 innings in that span. During his hot stretch, he's posted a 15:7 K:BB, but that's about the only weak spot in his game right now. Stroman is at a 2.73 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:29 K:BB over 69.1 innings across 12 starts.       Marcus Stroman gave up two runs over 7 2/3 innings to get a win Friday over the Giants.

      Advice: Stroman allowed six hits with a pair of walks while striking out only two. The punchouts are not the 33-year-old’s strength, but he limits the hard contact and works deep enough into games to give fantasy managers a reason to smile more often than not.       Cease did not factor into the decision in Friday's 11-8 win over the Royals, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Despite generating 16 whiffs out of his 98 total pitches, Cease managed to strike out only five, tying a season low also reached May 20 against Atlanta and April 27 against Philadelphia. The Padres ace was cruising through five innings, allowing just two baserunners; however, he unraveled in a 25-pitch sixth inning, allowing four baserunners and departing with just one out.     • Dylan Cease surrenders three runs to Royals
      Dylan Cease allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday.

      Advice: Cease was pretty great to begin the year, posting a 2.19 ERA in his first eight starts, but this makes four straight outings that have missed the quality-start threshold.       Rodon (7-2) picked up the win over the Angels on Thursday, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over six-plus innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: Rodon ran through the Angels' lineup for most of the night, surrendering one run over the first six frames while producing five 1-2-3 innings. However, the veteran lefty would run into trouble in the seventh after allowing the first three batters to reach, paving the way for Ian Hamilton to take over in relief.     • Carlos Rodón allows three over six in win over Angels
      Carlos Rodón gave up three runs over six innings to pick up a win Thursday over the Angels.

      Advice: Rodón allowed just one run over the first six innings, but a pair of runs were charged to him in the seventh to turn an excellent start into a solid if unspectacular effort. The southpaw struck out five and walked one, and he’s still the owner of a 3.09 effort for his troubles in 2024. Rodón will get another chance to pitch Wednesday against the Twins.     • Bullpen spoils bid Tuesday
      Brown did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Mariners, allowing one run on four hits and no walks while striking out nine in six innings.

      Advice: Brown had arguably his best performance of the season, tossing his third quality start while setting a new season high with nine punchouts. The Mariners scratched across a run on him in the first inning, and from there he was dominant, allowing just one runner to reach scoring position while retiring the final 11 he faced in order. Tuesday was also just the second time this season he went without walking a batter. It was certainly an encouraging outing, as it's been a mixed bag of results all year from the 25-year-old, who now owns a 6.39 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 53:24 K:BB in 49.1 innings.     • Hunter Brown strikes out nine against Mariners
      Hunter Brown limited the Mariners to one run over six innings and struck out nine in a no-decision Tuesday.

      Advice: The result certainly wasn’t what Houston wanted, but Brown’s outing was awfully encouraging. Boasting maybe his best slider of the year, he got 14 missed swings and topped his previous season high for strikeouts by two. It’s his third quality start and just the second time he’s gone without allowing a walk.       Cortes allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Tuesday.

      Advice: Cortes allowed multiple runs for the first time in three starts, but it was still a passable outing for the southpaw. He allowed a total of nine runs (eight earned) over 29 innings across five starts in May while adding a 30:8 K:BB in that span. Cortes is at a 3.30 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 67:15 K:BB through 71 innings over 12 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in San Francisco. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:55 pm
