• Returning to majors
Pages will be recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: With Willson Contreras (forearm) set to miss the next couple of months, Pages will come up from the minors to serve as the backup catcher to Ivan Herrera. Pages has played in just six games at Triple-A this season, going 4-for-18 with a homer and two RBI, and he'll likely only draw an occasional start while with the Cardinals. • Excellent against Cincinnati
Gallen (4-2) earned the win Tuesday over the Reds, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Gallen had gone 11 days between starts after suffering a hamstring injury on April 26 against Seattle. He certainly looked healthy Tuesday, holding Cincinnati to one hit en route to his third scoreless outing this season. It's an encouraging effort from Gallen, who'd dropped his previous two starts, allowing eight runs over 10 innings in that span. He lowered his ERA to 2.84 with a 1.13 WHIP and 41:12 K:BB across seven starts (38 innings) this year. Gallen's currently in line for a road start Sunday against the Orioles in his next outing. • Kyle Harrison combines on shutout of Rockies
Kyle Harrison pitched four-hit ball for seven innings and combined with two relievers on a 5-0 shutout of the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: Ryan Walker and Camilo Doval, who hadn’t pitched in five days, finished up the Giants’ shutout. Harrison struck out just two tonight and gave up a pair of 390-foot flies to Ezequiel Tovar and Jordan Beck, but he was never stressed. The win moves him to 3-1 with a 3.20 ERA. He’ll work at home against the Reds on Sunday. Rotoworld Today, 8:41 pm

  • Dakota Hudson gives up four runs in loss to Giants
Dakota Hudson surrendered four runs in 3 2/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Giants.

Advice: Hudson is going to have to be a little better than this in order to get a chance to make a run at 20 losses this year. He’s currently 0-6 with a 6.35 ERA and an ugly 20/22 K/BB ratio in 34 innings. Rotoworld Today, 8:41 pm

  • LaMonte Wade Jr. gets on base four times in win
LaMonte Wade Jr. reached base four times Tuesday, finishing 1-for-2 with two RBI and three walks versus the Rockies.

Advice: The underrated Wade is batting .351 with a ridiculous .485 OBP, yet as a platoon player with one homer, 10 RBI, 12 runs scored and one steal, he still hasn’t been all that valuable for fantasy purposes, and it’s not like he’ll keep hitting .351 forever. At least he should remain plenty useful to the Giants all year. Rotoworld Today, 8:41 pm

  • Set for surgery
Contreras said Tuesday that he will undergo surgery on his fractured left forearm within the next several days and will miss 6-to-8 weeks, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After getting hit in the forearm by a swing during the second inning of Tuesday's game, Contreras will officially be sidelined for up to two months -- a huge blow to a Cardinals offense that already ranks near the bottom of the NL in OPS (.636) and runs (126). Ivan Herrera is now the favorite to receive the bulk of starts behind the plate while Contreras is out, and it's likely the Cardinals promote Pedro Pages from Triple-A Memphis to be the new backup. • Tayler Saucedo suffers knee injury on play at first
Tayler Saucedo left Tuesday’s game in the eighth inning with a right knee injury.

Advice: Saucedo unfortunately slipped on first base while running to cover and trying to avoid a diving Austin Martin and was in a great deal of pain afterwards. He’ll surely land on the IL, which could lead to a promotion for Sammy Peralta. Rotoworld Today, 8:10 pm

  • Ober solid but Twins’ bullpen blows lead late
Bailey Ober allowed two earned runs over five innings while striking out seven in Tuesday’s loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Ober gave allowed two runs in the second, one of which came on a solo homer to Mitch Haniger, but he was largely in control in this one. He walked just one batter to go along with his three hits, and retired the last six batters he faced before turning things over to the bullpen. The Twins’ relievers would go on to allow eight earned runs over four innings to spoil Ober’s perfect outing, as he’ll now look to notch his second win of the month on Sunday against the Blue Jays. • Emerson Hancock allows four ER over four innings
Emerson Hancock allowed four earned runs over four innings in Tuesday’s win over the Twins.

Advice: Things got rough for Hancock in the third inning. Entering the frame with a 2-0 lead, Hancock allowed a two-out single to Jose Miranda followed by a walk to Edouard Julien. Trevor Larnach would single to score Miranda, but it was a three-run homer by Ryan Jeffers in the following at-bat that gave that did the most damage. Emerson would pitch a perfect fourth and be pulled in place of Gabe Speier to start the fifth. He didn’t record a strikeout in this one, and will carry a 5.24 ERA into Sunday’s start against the Athletics. Rotoworld Today, 7:53 pm
