  • Aaron Judge starts key rally against Tigers
    Aaron Judge went singled, walked, stole a base and scored a run as the Yankees rallied to beat the Tigers in the ninth inning on Friday night in the Bronx.

    Advice: Judge drew a two-out walk in the opening inning and swiped second base, but wound up being stranded there. He then started a key rally in the ninth inning with a leadoff single off of Tigers’ closer Jason Foley then came around to score the tying run on an RBI double off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton.   • Hunter Renfroe swats homer as KC beats Texas
    Hunter Renfroe homered and walked in a rout of the Rangers on Friday.

    Advice: Renfroe got the Royals on the board with a solo shot in the fifth off an otherwise-excellent Michael Lorenzen. The outfielder has gone deep three times in his first season with Kansas City, but the .155/.228/.298 line tells the story of how ineffective he’s been in the first month-plus.   • Michael Lorenzen holds Royals to one run over six
    Michael Lorenzen surrendered one run over six innings without factoring into the decision Friday against the Royals.

    Advice: Lorenzen and Brady Singer were both excellent in what was a pitching duel for the first six innings. Lorenzen allowed just four hits, and while he did walk three, he was able to escape jams outside of a homer from Hunter Renfroe in the fifth. The 32-year-old bounced back from his five-run outing against the Reds last week, and it lowers his ERA on the season to 3.52.   • Randy Arozarena blasts mammoth homer as Rays win
    Randy Arozarena blasted a 445-foot home run on Friday, helping to power the Rays to a 10-8 victory over the Mets.

    Advice: Wearing the Rays’ new city connect uniforms for the first time, the slumping 29-year-old outfielder appeared to be re-energized. He drew a walk in the third inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Alex Jackson. Arozarena then demolished a 1-1 fastball from Dedniel Nunez in the fourth inning, belting his 445-foot (109.1 mph) solo shot. He also walked in the sixth and eighth innings, finishing the night 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored. Even with the strong night though, Arozarena is still hitting a pitiful .145/.242/.265 on the season with four homers, 10 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Today, 6:41 pm
     
  • Amed Rosario collects three hits in win over Mets
    Amed Rosario had a nice night at the dish in Friday’s victory over the Mets, going 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and two RBI.

    Advice: The 28-year-old infielder reached on an infield single to start the second inning and scored the Rays’ first run on a ground out off the bat of Jonny DeLuca. He then smacked an RBI single off of José Quintana in the third inning that gave the Rays a 4-3 lead they would never relinquish. He then came around to score on a two-run single by DeLuca. Rosario has been a bright spot in the Rays’ lineup this season, slashing a healthy .309/.327/.427 with two homers, 15 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 29 games. Rotoworld Today, 6:40 pm

  • Jacob Young pulled due to apparent injury Friday
    Jacob Young was pulled from Friday’s showdown against the Blue Jays in the fifth inning due to an apparent injury.

    Advice: No word yet on what happened to the 24-year-old speedster, but he was replaced by Jesse Winker when the Nationals took the field to start the fifth inning.     Edman (wrist) is slated to take full swings off a tee Saturday, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

    Advice: Edman recently progressed to hitting from both sides of the dish after being limited to the right side due to his surgically repaired right wrist. He was also seen tracking fly balls during batting practice Friday, per John Denton of MLB.com. Edman still appears far away from a rehab assignment, but the 29-year-old is steadily progressing.     Cardinals’ manager Oli Marmol said Friday that the team continues to proceed cautiously with Tommy Edman (wrist).

    Advice: The 28-year-old has been hitting off of a tee from both sides of the plate, but Marmol noted that his progression will continue to be slower than most injured players’ by design. He also said that a minor league rehab assignment is not imminent.
