    • Sitting against lefty
Biggio is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Biggio is sitting out for a second consecutive contest, moving to the bench with southpaw Patrick Corbin on the mound for Washington. Instead, Isiah Kiner-Falefa will slide to second base while Ernie Clement mans the hot corner. Rotowire.com Today, 12:54 pm

    • Makes impact as pinch runner
Ruiz entered Wednesday's win over the Pirates as a pinch runner in the bottom of the eighth inning, recording a stolen base and subsequently scoring a run.

Advice: The speedy outfielder offered a spark off the bench after being tasked with running for Abraham Toro, swiping second base and subsequently coming home on Kyle McCann's single. The steal was only Ruiz's fourth in 16 games this season, but his second in the last three contests. The 25-year-old has also shown a welcome increase in pop early in the campaign, as he sports an impressive .861 OPS thanks in large part to having laced five of his nine hits for extra bases. • Clubs solo homer
Steer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base during Wednesday's 6-2 loss to San Diego.

Advice: Steer advanced to a perfect 8-for-8 on steal attempts this season and belted his fourth home run of the campaign -- and his first since April 6 -- off of Joe Musgrove in the first inning. He's cooled off since going on a tear to open the season and is batting 5-for-40 (.125) with four RBi and three runs scored during his last 11 games. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:37 pm

    • Spencer Steer snaps homerless streak Wednesday
Spencer Steer clobbered a solo homer on Wednesday in the Reds’ loss to the Padres.

Advice: Steer kicked off the scoring with a solo shot to left-center field -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- off Padres starter Joe Musgrove in the opening frame. It was the first time he’s gone deep since April 6, snapping a bizarre 22-game homerless drought. The versatile 26-year-old on-base machine is batting .252/.364/.450 with 18 runs scored, four homers, 22 RBI and eight stolen bases through 31 contests. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:47 pm

    • Resuming rehab assignment
Lowe (oblique/hamstring) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe, who opened the season on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain, was expected to be activated last weekend, but his return to the 26-man active roster was delayed after he experienced right hamstring tightness in a rehab game at Durham. However, the feeling is that Lowe experienced only a minor setback, and he's since been cleared to return to game action. Lowe will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis at Durham to determine when he can return from the IL to make his season debut for the big club. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:56 am

    • Josh Lowe to start second rehab assignment Thurs.
Rays sent Josh Lowe (hamstring) on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham for Thursday.

Advice: It’s been a frustrating process for the Rays and fantasy managers who have Lowe rostered. The 26-year-old outfielder was supposed to be activated from the injured list this past weekend, but hamstring tightness while rehabbing delayed his return. Lowe will rehab with Durham on Thursday and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis. Overall, it’s not what managers want to hear but it’s better to have him 100% healthy than risk another injury that could be prevented while with Tampa Bay. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:54 am

    • Absent from lineup
Biggio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Biggio had started each of the last five contests for the Blue Jays but will begin Wednesday's game on the bench. Toronto will turn to Davis Schneider at second base and Addison Barger in left field. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:10 am

    • Back from bereavement list
The Mets activated Marte (personal) from the bereavement list Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: He's not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Cubs, but he'll be available off the bench after missing the previous three games. DJ Stewart is set to start in right field Tuesday. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 12:15 pm

    • Mets activate Starling Marte from bereavement list
Mets activated OF Starling Marte from the bereavement list.

Advice: The 35-year-old returns to the active roster after a few days on the bereavement list. Marte is slashing an impressive .288/.327/.442 with four homers and 12 RBI in his 111 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Tuesday, 12:15 pm
