      Arenado went 3-for-5 with one RBI in Friday's 10-6 win over the Red Sox.

      Advice: Arenado had gone 5-for-38 with no multi-hit efforts and a 1:10 BB:K over his previous nine contests. The third baseman hasn't stumbled as much as some of his teammates, but he's still in the midst of a down year, especially from a power standpoint. He's slashing .268/.323/.375 with three home runs, 22 RBI, 17 runs scored and nine doubles over 43 games on the year. Arenado hasn't hit fewer than 20 homers in a full-length campaign since 2014, and he's never slugged lower than .405 over a full year in his career, but he's got a lot of work to do to get back to those levels in 2024.       Rengifo went 1-for-4 with a double, a steal, a run scored and a walk in Friday's win over Texas.

      Advice: Rengifo hit second in his first game since May 6 after a brief stint on the injured list. He ripped a double in the first inning before drawing a walk, stealing second base and scoring a run in the third. The utility bat was on a 19-for-46 (.413) tear over his last 15 games before landing on the IL. Rengifo is slashing .326/.379/.463 with nine extra-base hits and 10 steals through 29 games.     • Angels activate Luis Rengifo for Friday return
      Angels activated INF/OF Luis Rengifo from the 10-day injured list.

      Advice: The Angels tried to keep Rengifo on the active roster, but after he missed five games, they decided to put him on the injured list last Thursday. A week later, he’s returning to the fold and should likely remain an everyday player for the Angels given how banged up their lineup is.       The Angels activated Rengifo (illness) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

      Advice: Rengifo missed the last week and a half with a viral illness which resulted in painful blisters on his feet. He's recovered now, though, and should be back in the lineup when the Angels return to action Friday in Texas against the Rangers.       Westburg went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Westburg made manager Brandon Hyde look smart -- this was Westburg's first big-league game at leadoff, and he hit a homer in his first at-bat. The infielder is 11-for-32 (.344) over his last eight games, adding six extra-base hits and seven RBI in that span. For the season, he's slashing .301/.354/.534 with seven homers, 28 RBI, 22 runs scored and five stolen bases through 159 plate appearances. Westburg may get more looks at leadoff versus southpaws, but he should be expected to bat lower in the lineup versus right-handers, as he has yet to above sixth in the order against same-handed pitchers this season.       Batting leadoff for the first time, Jordan Westburg went 2-for-5 with a homer versus the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

      Advice: Manager Brandon Hyde indicated before the game that this wasn’t a permanent move. Westburg, though, has a case for hitting high in the order regularly.       Rengifo (illness) fielded grounders Monday and could return from the injured list when eligible Friday, per MLB.com.

      Advice: Rengifo came down with a viral infection in early May and landed on the IL when the illness caused painful blisters on his feet. His ability to take grounders Monday is a good indication that he's doing better, and there's a chance he could spend the minimum amount of time on the injured list. Upon his return, Rengifo should slide back into a starting role at third base -- Niko Goodrum, Luis Guillorme and Cole Tucker have been filling in at the hot corner in his stead.       Advice: The Cardinals were shut out over six innings before Arenado ignited an eight-run seventh with an inning-opening solo shot to left field. The long ball was just his third of the season and marked only his second extra-base hit over his past seven games.
