      The Royals are hopeful that Wacha, who was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a small, non-displaced fracture in his left foot, will be able to rejoin the active roster in 3-to-4 weeks, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

      Advice: Though he's without an official timeline for a return, Wacha at least looks poised to avoid surgery to address the injury, which he sustained when he was hit by a line drive in the first inning of his start Friday against the Padres. According to MLB.com, Wacha will be able to play catch on a knee to help keep his arm conditioned, but a firmer target date won't come into focus until the soreness in his fractured foot subsides and he's able to put full weight on the leg when he throws.       Advice: Betts didn’t waste much time in this one, crushing the third pitch that Austin Gomber threw for a 354-foot (95.8 mph EV) solo shot to give the Dodgers an early lead that they’d never relinquish. That's a testament to his consistency and his elite skills as the tone-setter atop the Dodgers' lineup.       Nico Hoerner went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a loss to the Reds on Sunday.

      Advice: Hoerner has been slowly increasing his batting average in recent weeks and is up to .262/.351/.366 on the season; however, he didn’t attempt a stolen base today and has just six on the season. After stealing 43 bases last year, it’s discouraging to see Hoerner not running as often. It could partially be a hamstring issue he’s been dealing with or a new philosophy under manager Craig Counsell, but since Hoerner doesn’t have much power, his fantasy value will take a big hit if he’s only a 25-stolen-base hitter who will hit .270-.280. If you need the steals, you should still keep Hoerner in your lineup, but if you’re OK on speed and somebody makes a compelling offer, he could be a player you’re OK parting with.       Royals placed RHP Michael Wacha on the 15-day injured list with a left foot fracture.

      Advice: Wacha was seen using a walking boot Friday after being hit with a line drive during Friday’s start, and the Royals aren’t going to take any chances with the 32-year-old. This likely won’t be a minimum stint on the injured list, but his status should be updated in the coming days. Daniel Lynch was recalled to take Wacha’s place on the roster.       The Royals placed Wacha on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a non-displaced left foot fracture.

      Advice: X-rays revealed that Wacha suffered structural damage to his foot after he was hit by a 90 mile-per-hour comebacker off the bat of Luis Arraez in the opening inning of Friday's 11-8 loss to the Padres. Despite the fact that he was likely dealing with some pain, Wacha stayed in the game and proceeded to cover 5.1 innings while allowing two runs in a no-decision. The Royals haven't provided a timeline for Wacha's return, but given the nature of his injury, he's likely to miss beyond the minimum 15 days regardless of whether or not he requires surgery.       Advice: The third baseman took Yusei Kikuchi deep in the first inning, helping to kick-start what proved to be a laugher for the Pirates. It was only Hayes' second long ball of the season and his first in three games since recovering from back issues and coming off the IL.       Steele allowed five runs (one earned) on seven hits and four walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against Cincinnati on Saturday.

      Advice: Steele's fantasy stat line wasn't disastrous since only one of the five runs charged to him was earned, but he was far from sharp, especially in terms of control. The southpaw hit a batter in addition to issuing a season-high four walks, and he threw just 58 of 98 pitches for strikes. Steele is usually much better at limiting free passes -- before Saturday, he had issued only seven walks over six starts -- so this was likely just a bump in the road for him.
