    • Nolan Arenado leaves game after being hit by pitch
Nolan Arenado made an early exit from Thursday’s game against the Pirates after being hit by a pitch.

Advice: Arenado was hit by a pitch on the right hand while striking out in the bottom of the eighth inning and appeared to leave the contest afterwards. However, it’s difficult to confirm since he was in the lineup at designated hitter in this one. There should be an update on his status. He was 0-for-4 with a strikeout prior to leaving. • Sitting out Thursday
Alvarez is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Marlins.

Advice: Alvarez started at catcher in the first two games of the series after being activated from the 10-day injured list, but he will sit out the finale. Luis Torrens will do the catching for Luis Severino. Rotowire.com Thursday, 12:09 pm

    • Gets on base four times
Soler went 2-for-2 with two walks and one run scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Astros.

Advice: Soler has found some success at the plate in June, going 11-for-37 (.297) over 10 contests this month. He's also drawn four walks over his last three games, though his 9.6 percent walk rate is still his lowest since 2015. While it's a positive to see the designated hitter make more consistent contact, he's still struggling to hit for power. He's batting .217 with a .661 OPS, seven home runs, 18 RBI, 26 runs scored, nine doubles and no stolen bases over 56 games this season. Soler's lowest OPS in a season is .503 in 2017, but he played in just 35 games that year. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:18 pm

    • Tallies three hits Wednesday
Arenado went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in a 4-2 win against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Among Arenado's three hits was a third-inning RBI double that was St. Louis' only extra-base hit of the contest. The veteran third baseman batted .167 over his first seven contests in June but has perked up since, putting together a four-game hitting streak during which he has gone 8-for-16. The hot stretch has improved his season slash line to .264/.320/.386. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 11:00 pm

    • Nico Hoerner swipes two bases in return to lineup
Nico Hoerner went 1-for-4 with two steals Wednesday against the Rays in his return to the Cubs lineup.

Advice: Hoerner hadn’t started since suffering a hairline fracture in his hand Thursday. His two steals tonight gave him nine for the year, eight of which have come since May 1. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:13 pm

    • Logan O’Hoppe (groin) not in lineup on Wednesday
Logan O’Hoppe (groin) is not in the Angels’ starting lineup on Wednesday.

Advice: The 24-year-old backstop took a hard foul ball to the groin area on Tuesday, prompting his removal from the game. He’s still a bit sore on Wednesday so manager Ron Washington thought it would be wise to give him an extra night off. Matt Thaiss will do the catching for the Angels on Wednesday and will bat fifth against right-hander Slade Cecconi and the Diamondbacks. O’Hoppe should still be considered day-to-day. • Remains sidelined Wednesday
O'Hoppe (groin) isn't in the Angels' lineup Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: O'Hoppe had to leave Tuesday's game after getting hit below the belt by a foul tip, and he will remain out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest. Matt Thaiss will fill in behind the dish while batting fifth. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:28 pm
    • Back in action Wednesday
Hoerner (hand) will start at second base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: Though Hoerner was diagnosed with a small fracture in his right hand over the weekend, he avoided a stint on the injured list and will make his return to the lineup after missing only four starts. Before his recent absence, Hoerner had gone 0-for-8 over his last three starts, and it may take a bit for him to regain full strength in his hand and recapture the exit velocities he had provided prior to suffering the injury. Fantasy managers in leagues with daily lineup moves may be best served leaving Hoerner on the bench until he resumes producing at a level that warrants keeping him active. • Departs with groin injury Tuesday
O'Hoppe was removed from Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks after taking a foul ball to the groin area, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: O'Hoppe writhed on the ground in pain for a few minutes after being struck by the foul ball in the sixth inning. He was eventually able to walk off the field with trainers but still appeared to be feeling the effects of the impact. It's not yet clear how much time -- if any -- the backstop will need to miss.
