    • Rattled by Nats
Lynn (4-4) took the loss Saturday, surrendering 11 runs (10 earned) on nine hits -- including three home runs -- and four walks over 2.2 innings as the Cardinals were routed 14-6 by the Nationals. He struck out two.

Advice: The veteran right-hander goes into the record books as the pitcher who served up the first career home run by James Wood, and Lynn also got taken deep by CJ Abrams and Keibert Ruiz before getting a merciful hook. Lynn had been doing a better job of keeping the ball in the park prior to Saturday, and through 90.1 innings this season he's allowed 13 long balls -- a big improvement on the league-worst 44 he coughed up in 2023 over 183.2 IP. Lynn will take a 4.48 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 86:35 K:BB into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Cubs. Rotowire.com Today, 6:16 am

    • Ryan McMahon tallies three hits, RBI in victory
Ryan McMahon went 3-for-3 with an RBI on Saturday in the Rockies’ win over the Royals.

Advice: McMahon reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances and also provided a key insurance run with a fifth-inning single off Royals starter Seth Lugo that brought Sam Hilliard around to extend Colorado’s lead to a commanding three-run margin at the time. The 29-year-old third baseman is making a serious push for his first All-Star Game selection this season, batting .272 (90-for-331) with 14 homers, 45 RBI and three steals through 87 games. • Lynn hit hard for 11 runs, three homers in loss
Lance Lynn allowed 11 runs (10 earned) in 2 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Nationals on Saturday.

Advice: Lynn gave up nine hits, walked four and struck out two. Lynn had won back-to-back starts and seemed to be putting together a nice season before it all came crashing down against the Nationals. He allowed three home runs and looked more like he did last year when he had a 5.73 ERA and allowed 44 home runs. Lynn’s ERA increased nearly a full run from 3.59 to 4.48 with this outing. The 37-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cubs at home next weekend.

    • Kyle Schwarber (groin) will return on Tuesday
Kyle Schwarber (groin) ran the bases at 100 percent on Saturday without issue and will be activated from the injured list on Tuesday.

Advice: Tuesday had been the target all along for the 31-year-old slugger to return and running at full speed on Saturday was the final hurdle that he needed to clear to meet that goal. With Schwarber back on Tuesday and Bryce Harper (hamstring) expected to follow shortly, the Phillies’ offense is getting an awful lot of left-handed power back next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:02 pm

    • Kyle Schwarber likely to return on Tuesday
Kyle Schwarber (groin) is scheduled to run the bases on Saturday.

Advice: Schwarber is poised to complete his final step towards returning this weekend and appears a near-lock to return on Tuesday when the Phillies kick off a highly-anticipated series against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:45 pm

    • Sitting again Saturday
Polanco isn't in Seattle's lineup Saturday versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Saturday will mark the third consecutive absence from the lineup for Polanco, with Dylan Moore starting at second base for the second game in a row. The 31-year-old Polanco has put up a career-low .576 OPS through 208 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:23 am

    • Sitting vs. lefty
Suwinski is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Advice: Suwinski went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's series opener, but he will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout with left-hander David Peterson on the mound. Michael Taylor will start in center field and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:16 am

    • Nabs 16th steal
Chisholm went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: For the second straight game, Chisholm reached base three times while swiping a base. The 26-year-old has been doing his job of late at the top of the order, slashing .315/.378/.397 over his last 21 games, but he's scored only seven runs over that stretch due to the overall struggles of the Miami offense. On the season, Chisholm is batting what would be a career-high .262 with 10 homers, 16 steals, 37 runs and 40 RBI in 85 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:44 am

    • Adbert Alzolay (forearm) throwing bullpen sessions
Adbert Alzolay (forearm) has progressed to throwing bullpen sessions.

Advice: Cubs pitching coach Tommy Hottovy told reporters Friday that Alzolay is progressing well and will ramp up to facing hitters at some point later this month. The 29-year-old righty has been out since mid-May due to a right forearm flexor strain. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:55 am
