      Ober (3-1) earned the win Wednesday over the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three over six innings.

      Advice: After allowing two runs in the opening frame, Ober settled in to hold Chicago to just two more runs over his final five innings en route to a third consecutive winning decision. The four runs were the most Ober's allowed since he was tagged for eight runs in his first start of the year against Kansas City -- he'd held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his subsequent four outings. Overall, the 28-year-old right-hander sports a 4.55 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings this season. Ober's currently slated for a home matchup with the Mariners in his next turn.     • Spencer Turnbull solid for 5 1/3 innings
      Spencer Turnbull yielded two runs — one earned — in 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Angels.

      Advice: This will likely be Turnbull’s final start for a while, as Taijuan Walker’s return has restored the Phillies’ planned rotation. Still, Turnbull seems like a better bet than Walker going forward, and while it’s unlikely that he’d hold up over the course of 32 starts, he might be a fantasy factor again later this year.       Turnbull didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks over 5.1 innings against the Angels. He struck out six.

      Advice: The only run charged against Turnbull came in the third inning when Zach Neto tagged him for a solo homer. The 31-year-old hasn't allowed more than four hits in a game this season, and with the Phillies expected to trim their six-man rotation back to five now that Taijuan Walker is healthy, Turnbull has certainly made a case for maintaining a starting role. However, after dealing with severe injuries in 2022 and 2023, the Phillies could look to watch his workload early in hopes of keeping him fresh throughout the long season. If Turnbull sticks in the rotation, he'd likely toe the rubber early next week, either in the series finale against the Giants or the series opener against Toronto.       Cole Ragans allowed one run on four hits over 6 2/3 innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

      Advice: Ragans was removed from the game in the seventh inning with a calf cramp, but he remained in the dugout and there seems to be no concern about his status going forward. The left-hander was effective on Sunday with nine strikeouts and three walks. He also posted a 28 percent whiff rate and 30 percent CSW thanks to a strong effort from both his four-seam and change-up.     • Suffers calf cramp
      Ragans left Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays due to a left calf cramp.

      Advice: Ragans was removed from the game midway through the seventh inning and was later seen in the dugout after receiving minimal attention from the Royals' trainers, so his injury doesn't appear to be anything too severe.     • Starting Tuesday
      Manager Rob Thomson said Turnbull will start Tuesday's game against the Angels, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

      Advice: At least to begin the upcoming week, the Phillies will keep a six-man rotation in place following the return of Taijuan Walker from the injured list Sunday. In order to keep Turnbull in the fold in a starting role, the Phillies will move Zack Wheeler's next start to Wednesday and Aaron Nola's to Friday. Thomson said that he wanted to give Wheeler and Nola some extra rest ahead of their next starts, adding that he's not inclined to go with a six-man rotation moving forward. However, keeping a six-man rotation in place for this week will buy Thomson one more opportunity to evaluate Turnbull and Walker, with how either pitcher performs in their upcoming start perhaps determining which of the two sticks around as part of a five-man rotation. Turnbull has dazzled thus far with a 1.33 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB in 27 innings through five starts, but the Phillies are conscious of monitoring his workload after he missed the 2022 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery before tossing just 57 total innings between the majors and minors in 2023 while missing time with a neck injury.       Framber Valdez won in his return from the IL on Sunday, allowing two runs over five innings against the Rockies in Mexico City.

      Advice: Sharp even without the benefit or a rehab assignment, Valdez struck out six and walked none today.       Valdez allowed two runs on five hits over five innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rockies.

      Advice: Valdez was activated from the injured list and made his first appearance since April 2. He coughed up a pair of runs in the second inning but otherwise looked solid. He forced 13 swinging strikes and his sinker touched 96 mph. Through three starts this season, Valdez has produced a 2.60 ERA with a 16:6 K:BB across 17.1 frames.
