    • Knee remains bothersome
Santander is out of the lineup Sunday against the Mariners due to soreness and swelling in his left knee, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: The 29-year-old served as Baltimore's designated hitter the past two days after he suffered a bruised knee Wednesday, and he aggravated the injury while running the bases. Santander said running in the outfield remains a bit of an issue, so he could be limited to DH duties for a few days as he gets back to full strength. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

Buxton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Buxton went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI in his return from right knee inflammation Saturday, and he'll sit for the series finale in Cleveland. Willi Castro will man center field Sunday for the Twins. Rotowire.com 46 minutes ago

    • Anthony Santander resting Sunday vs. Mariners
Anthony Santander is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s game against the Mariners.

Advice: Santander did have a knee injury last week, but this appears to just be a day of rest for the outfielder. Austin Hays is starting against right-hander George Kirby and hitting sixth. Rotoworld Today, 7:50 am

    • Out of lineup Sunday
Santander is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Seattle, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Santander started the last two games at designated hitter coming off the knee injury suffered Wednesday. The veteran outfielder will get a break Sunday as Baltimore rounds out their series with the Mariners, and it appears to just be a maintenance day since there's been no reports that he aggravated the injury. • Third straight game with homer
Ward went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Ward was the only Angel with multiple hits in the 13-inning marathon. He's logged three straight multi-hit games, swatting a homer in each of them to reach 10 long balls on the year. The outfielder is slashing .275/.320/.494 with 28 RBI, 27 runs scored, nine doubles and two stolen bases over 45 contests. Ward continues to hold down a near-everyday role in left field as one of the more productive players on the Angels' roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:05 pm

    • Crumbles in fifth frame Saturday
Verlander (2-2) took the loss against Milwaukee on Saturday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Verlander made it through four innings without giving up a run, but things fell apart for him in the fifth. In that frame, he put the first three batters on base via a single and two walks before allowing his first run on a sacrifice fly. Verlander got another out to nearly escape the jam without further damage, but William Contreras sent him to the showers with a three-run blast to center field. Verlander was coming off his best start of the season with seven scoreless innings against Detroit his last time out, though that was preceded by a seven-run, five-inning blowup against the Yankees his previous trip to the mound. He'll try to get back on the right track in his next appearance, which is tentatively lined up to take place in Oakland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 pm
    • Notches RBI in return
Buxton went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI in Saturday's loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Buxton was activated from the injured list Saturday after missing over two weeks due to right knee inflammation. The outfielder helped Minnesota avoid being shut out, plating the team's first run in the ninth inning with a single to right field. Buxton is slashing .250/.298/.385 with a home run, 12 RBI, 13 runs and a stolen base through 104 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:19 pm
