    • Throws bullpen
Scherzer (back/arm) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: After throwing about 25 pitches during Saturday's session, Scherzer gave a thumbs-up when he arrived at the clubhouse Sunday. Depending on how he recovers and how his conversations with the training staff go, Scherzer could face live batters Monday. Scherzer could then resume a rehab assignment soon thereafter. • Slugs homer in easy win
Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI during Sunday's 6-0 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Garcia snapped a five-game hitless streak Sunday, delivering two hits and pushing his RBI total to 40 this season. He also notched his 13th long ball of 2024, taking Trevor Rogers yard in the sixth frame. Garcia ranks top 15 in homers and RBI this year and is slashing .231/.285/.462 through 212 plate appearances. • Earns another win
Bassitt (6-6) picked up the win Sunday, allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over five innings against the Pirates. He struck out seven.

Advice: Bassitt didn't seem to be held back at all after leaving his previous start with neck spasms, tossing 100 pitches Sunday and picking up his third straight victory. The 35-year-old has been part of the decision in all 12 of his starts this season and hasn't yielded more than three runs in an outing since April 26. During that stretch, Bassitt is 4-2 with a 2.83 ERA across 35.0 innings. He's scheduled to make his next appearance Friday at Oakland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:50 pm

    • Cleared to start Wednesday
Singer (illness) is listed as the Royals' probable starting pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Guardians in Cleveland, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Singer looks to be in the clear on the health front after an unspecified illness left him feeling lethargic and unable to play catch Wednesday before the Royals opted to scratch him from his scheduled start Thursday against the Twins, according to ESPN.com. He apparently demonstrated enough progress over the weekend and shouldn't face any major workload restrictions when he takes the hill Wednesday. Through 11 starts this season, Singer has gone 4-2 with a 2.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 64:19 across 61.2 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:04 pm
    • Goes deep twice
Soto went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Soto opened the game's scoring with a solo shot in the first inning. He later belted a two-run, go-ahead homer in the ninth inning off Giants closer Camilo Doval. It was Soto's third multi-homer performance as a Yankee, all coming over his last 15 games. During that stretch, he's gone 22-for-57 (.386) with 12 extra-base hits and 19 RBI. Soto's season slash line now sits at .322/.417/.614 through 61 games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:34 pm

    • Juan Soto crushes go-ahead homer in ninth Sunday
Juan Soto crushed a go-ahead two-run homer off of Camilo Doval in the ninth inning on Sunday, powering the Yankees to a come-from-behind 7-5 victory over the Giants.

Advice: The Yankees entered the ninth inning trailing 5-3, but things got tighter in a hurry after a one-out RBI triple off the bat of Anthony Volpe. Two pitches later, Soto uncorked a 398-foot (108.2 mph EV) two-run shot that gave the Yankees a 6-5 lead. The 25-year-old superstar also opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 430-foot (108.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Blake Snell in the top half of the first inning. He finished the day 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI and is now hitting a ridiculous .322/.417/.614 on the season with 17 homers and 53 RBI. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:35 pm

    • Bat remains hot
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Twins.

Advice: Bregman is starting to heat up, collecting his fourth homer in six games along with adding his fifth multi-hit effort over the last eight. Sunday's performance lifted Bregman's slash line to .229/.287/.395 while during this recent eight-game run he's batting 12-for-32 (.375) with four homers, seven RBI and five runs scored. • Chris Bassitt strikes out seven in win
Chris Bassitt struck out seven across five innings in a 5-4 win over the Pirates on Sunday. He allowed three earned runs and walked one while securing the win.

Advice: Bassitt was able to navigate nine Pirates base runners to keep just enough runs off the board and earn his sixth win of the season. This was his third straight win in as many starts as he’s put a poor April in the rear view mirror and pitched much more like the ultra-steady Bassitt we’ve come to expect. • Adolis García homers in win over Marlins
Adolis García went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: García took a sixth-inning offering from Trevor Rogers and hit it 395 feet at 108.2 mph for his 13th home run on the season. He also added an RBI earlier in the game and now has 40 RBI on the year, which has helped prop up a disappointing .231/.285/.462 slash line. As a free-swinger, García has always seemed at risk for batting average regression, and it’s possible he won’t match last year’s .245 batting average, but the power remains a true asset.
