    • On base three times in loss
Abrams went 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Advice: The streaky leadoff hitter has drawn five free passes over the last three games, and over his last 20 contests Abrams is slashing a blistering .408/.512/.690 with three homers, five steals, 15 RBI and 18 runs. The peaks have outweighed the valleys so far in 2024 for the 23-year-old shortstop -- Abrams' .860 OPS is nearly a 150-point improvement on his .712 mark from last season. • Three hits in Monday's loss
Ruiz went 3-for-5 with an RBI in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Advice: It was the backstop's first three-hit performance since March 30, but his third multi-hit effort in his last five starts. Ruiz is showing signs of life at the plate, and over his last 11 games he's batting .289 (11-for-38) with three doubles. Rotowire.com Today, 8:32 am

    • Goes six scoreless for sixth win
Brown (6-5) earned the win Monday against Toronto, allowing two hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out five.

Advice: The Houston right-hander continued his torrid hot streak, tossing an eighth consecutive quality start. Over those eight outings, Brown has gone 5-1 with a 1.29 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 53:14 K:BB across 49 innings. Despite sporting a 9.78 ERA after his first 23 innings, the 25-year-old has now lowered his overall ERA to 4.07 in 86.1 total innings. Brown is currently scheduled to make his next start against the Twins in Minnesota this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:21 pm
    • Hunter Brown goes six scoreless to defeat Jays
Hunter Brown tossed six scoreless frames, allowing only two hits, Monday as the Astros defeated the Blue Jays 3-1.

Advice: The Jays had a chance in the second, when Brown gave up a single and walked two to load the bases with one out, but Ernie Clement and Kevin Kiermaier failed to bring home any runners. Other than that, Brown kept the Toronto bats very quiet on Canada Day. He’s won five straight starts, allowing a total of one run in the process. Having a particularly great stretch of schedule has certainly helped there, but he’d probably be doing just fine against better teams, too. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm
    • Josh Hader records 13th save after allowing homer
Josh Hader picked up his 13th save despite giving up a homer in the ninth Monday against the Blue Jays.

Advice: Ernie Clement took him deep. That’s two homers allowed by Hader in his last three games and six on the season. Still, his ERA has fallen steadily these last couple of months; he has a 2.40 ERA and a 49/7 K/BB ratio in 30 innings since Apr. 17. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:15 pm

    • Bags 13th save
Hader picked up the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jays, pitching one inning with one strikeout and allowing a solo home run.

Advice: The Houston southpaw entered the ninth with a three-run lead and fired 13 pitches to lock up his 178th career save. However, Hader also allowed his sixth homer of the year -- a 404-foot solo shot to Ernie Clement -- raising his 2024 home-run rate to 1.4 HR/9. The 30-year-old closer sports a 3.82 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 60:11 K:BB over 37.2 total innings while going 13-for-14 in save chances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:05 pm

    • Swipes 14th bag
Abrams went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: The Nationals had only three hits on the afternoon, so while Abrams was busy on the basepaths, his efforts couldn't generate any offense. The 23-year-old shortstop had been slumping heading into June, but he wrapped up the month with a dazzling .373/.464/.663 slash line in 97 plate appearances, adding four of his 13 homers on the season and six of his 14 steals. • Blake: Rodón working to adjust gameplan
Yankees pitching coach Matt Blake said Carlos Rodón is working to adjust his approach as team’s key on hitting his fastball.

Advice: Speaking to The Athletic, Matt Blake said he doesn’t have long-term concerns with Rodón despite the left-hander allowing 20 earned runs and a 1.253 OPS in his last three outings. “I think it’s being ready to adapt your plan early because it’s clear that teams that can hit the fastball are targeting him early,” Blake said. “There are more guys like him who throw the ball hard with good profiles and... there’s just less room for error with that stuff. Even if that’s how you got paid, that’s not necessarily your map for success down the road. The more we can adjust and adapt to the league and the sooner we can do that, the easier it is...You’re not asking him to be crafty, but you’ve got to have a better rhythm than that.” Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:25 am

    • Scores twice Sunday
Bregman went 1-for-5 with a double and two runs scored Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Bregman led off the fourth inning with a double and came around to score, accounting for most of his production. Though his season-long numbers remain fairly unimpressive, Bregman did have a productive June by hitting .310 with two homers, 11 RBI and 19 runs scored in 25 games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:29 pm
