    • Ryan Pressly dealing with finger soreness
Ryan Pressly is day-to-day with right finger soreness.

Advice: Astros manager Joe Espada didn’t seem to think it was a big deal when talking to reporters afterwards, but it sounds like Pressly could wind up getting a few days off as a result. There should be an update on his status at some point this weekend. Rotoworld Today, 3:41 am

    • Nabil Crismatt elects free agency
Dodgers RHP Nabil Crismatt elected free agency.

Advice: Crismatt could ultimately wind up back as extra organizational relief depth after being removed from Los Angeles’ 40-man roster for the second time this season already. However, he’ll explore his options on the open market for now after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 29-year-old righty has pitched well in seven relief outings for the Dodgers and should be able to latch on somewhere else. Rotoworld Today, 3:14 am

    • Guardians option Peter Strzelecki to Triple-A
Guardians optioned RHP Peter Strzelecki to Triple-A Columbus.

Advice: Strzelecki was shipped back to the minors ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Twins with Sam Hentges back from the paternity list. Rotoworld Today, 3:10 am
    • Andrew Heaney gets pulled in fourth against Angels
Andrew Heaney was pulled after giving up three runs — two earned — in 3 2/3 innings Friday against the Angels.

Advice: Heaney will almost certainly be pushed into middle relief if the Rangers ever happen to get all of their starters healthy, but it’s not happening this month. Heaney currently has an 0-5 record in spite of a 4.43 ERA and a 44/11 K/BB ratio over 44 2/3 innings in nine starts. He’s been particularly unlucky in terms of run support, and the Rangers are 1-8 when he pitches, compared to 22-15 the rest of the time. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:12 pm

    • Snags win in relief
Hjelle (1-1) allowed three hits and struck out one without walking a batter over two scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Rockies.

Advice: Hjelle was in the game when the Giants rallied ahead in the fifth inning, and they kept the lead the rest of the way. The right-hander has been decent in May, allowing two runs on 11 hits with a 14:0 K:BB over 10 innings across his last seven appearances. He's at a 2.81 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB through 16 innings this season as a multi-inning relief option for the Giants. Hjelle's also added two holds, but he has little chance of seeing consistent late-inning work. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:37 pm

    • Cole Ragans goes seven scoreless to defeat A’s
Cole Ragans blanked the A’s for seven innings, allowing just two hits, in the Royals’ 6-2 win Friday.

Advice: It’s the first time this year that Ragans has completed seven innings, though it’s the third time he’s pitched at least six scoreless innings. He’s 3-3 with a 3.70 ERA and an excellent 64/19 K/BB in 56 innings. Up next is a home start versus the Tigers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:28 pm

    • Mitch Spence effective for 4 2/3 in first start
Mitch Spence allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings against the Royals in his first big-league start Friday.

Advice: Spence allowed five hits, walked one and struck out four. The Rule 5 pick definitely helped his chances of making more starts with his showing. We wouldn’t trust him in fantasy leagues, but he’s been perfectly solid in amassing a 3.90 ERA and a 26/8 K/BB in 30 innings to date. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:28 pm

    • Lasts five innings Friday
Montas gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one over five innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Montas gave up a leadoff blast to Mookie Betts in the first inning and a two-run home run to Shohei Ohtani in the third. The Reds were able to erase that damage after Montas exited, but the Dodgers rallied in the late innings. Given the opponent, this was an acceptable start from the right-hander. He's still at a pedestrian 4.37 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 25:15 K:BB through 35 innings over eight starts this season. Montas' next start is projected to come at home versus the Padres. • Robert Suarez faces heart of Braves lineup in 8th
Robert Suarez worked the eighth against the Braves on Friday and picked up his first hold by pitching a scoreless inning.

Advice: The Padres don’t usually play matchups with their closer, but they did tonight with No. 2 hitter Ozzie Albies due up to start the eighth. It all worked out perfectly; Suarez gave up a couple of hits, but he protected the two-run lead, and then Jeremiah Estrada locked things up against the bottom of the order in the ninth.
