    Reid Detmers was shelled for seven runs over 5 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Guardians.

    Advice: Detmers was burned by the long ball in this one as three of the five hits he surrendered wound up leaving the ball park. Serving up solo shots to Austin Hedges and Ramón Laureano, respectively was relatively harmless, but a sixth-inning gland slam from Bo Naylor was enough to saddled him with a loss. He struck out seven and also issued four walks.   • Pops second homer in three days
    Mateo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Reds.

    Advice: While not known for his power, Mateo has run into a couple in recent days for his first two homers of the 2024 season. Saturday's start was the third straight for Mateo, as he has been playing regularly at second base since Jackson Holliday was demoted to Triple-A.   • Expected to play Sunday
    Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Bohm (hip) will be reevaluated Sunday, but he doesn't expect the third baseman to miss any starts, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

    Advice: Bohm was removed from Saturday's game versus the Giants with right hip flexor tightness, but his exit was considered precautionary and it sounds like he should be fine.     Lopez (3-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings in a 3-1 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out eight.

    Advice: Boston pushed across a run in the top of the first inning, but Lopez slammed the door shut after that, generating 19 swinging strikes among his 99 pitches as he tied his season high in Ks. The quality start was the third of the season for the right-hander, and Lopez will take a 4.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 45:8 K:BB through 37.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners.   • Alec Bohm (hip) expects to play on Sunday
    Alec Bohm (hip) told reporters after Saturday’s game that he expects to return to the Phillies’ lineup on Sunday.

    Advice: Bohm elaborated, saying “I’m good. I’ve played through much worse. It’s nothing really I’m concerned about.” Whether or not Phillies’ skipper Rob Thomson gives him that opportunity though, remains to be seen.     Advice: He's filling in for the injured Alec Marsh (elbow). Lynch has not pitched well this season at Omaha, collecting a 5.86 ERA and 22:9 K:BB over 27.2 innings. The 26-year-old infielder is slashing just .214/.283/.310 though, and he offers little else for fantasy purposes. With Vaughn Grissom having recovered from the hamstring strain that cost him the first month-plus of the season and Ceddanne Rafaela still entrenched at shortstop, Hamilton has no clear path to consistent playing time.     Abbott (1-4) took the loss to the Orioles on Saturday, allowing two runs on seven hits over five innings. He struck out eight without issuing a walk.

    Advice: He retired eight straight batters at one point while showing great depth with his breaking pitches, but Jorge Mateo and Adley Rutschman touched him up for solo shots in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, and that was enough to send Abbott to his fourth loss in five decisions. The lefty has now allowed multiple homers in three of his last four outings, but he still has a highly respectable 3.32 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 38 innings this season.     Judge went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI before being ejected for arguing balls and strikes in the seventh inning of Saturday's 5-3 win over the Tigers.

    Advice: Home plate umpire Ryan Blakney was generous with strike calls on pitches off the plate all day, and Judge's muttering as he walked back to the dugout after getting rung up for a second time got him tossed. Per Joe Trezza of MLB.com, it was the first ejection of Judge's career -- at any level of baseball. He still made an impact in the win, and while the 32-year-old slugger has had a slow start to the season, he's produced three multi-hit performances, two homers and six RBI in his last eight games.
