    • Blows save in extras
Iglesias blew the save Friday against the Dodgers. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts over one inning.

Advice: Iglesias entered the bottom of the tenth inning tasked with retiring the top of the Dodgers order to earn a save. He promptly retired Mookie Betts on two pitches before yielding a game-tying RBI single to Shohei Ohtani. However, since the automatic runner scored, the Atlanta closer escaped Friday night without a hit to his ERA, which now stands at 2.03 over 13.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:35 pm
    • Jason Foley implodes in ninth inning on Friday
Jason Foley suffered a brutal blown save against the Yankees on Friday night, surrendering hits to all four batters that he faced.

Advice: Yikes. In what was a terrific pitcher’s duel that had the Tigers leading 1-0 heading to the ninth inning, Foley immediately got off on the wrong foot by allowing a leadoff single to Aaron Judge. Alex Verdugo then dropped down a bunt single with third baseman Zach McKinstry playing back, setting the stage for Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton then ripped an RBI double into right field on the second pitch he saw, and Anthony Rizzo followed with a run-scoring single to walk it off. Foley is probably still fine in the ninth inning, as he has converted nine of his first 10 save chances, though his 1.54 WHIP leads much to be desired. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm
    • Secures eighth save
Iglesias gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his eighth save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: It wasn't the sharpest appearance for Iglesias, who put two batters on base before getting an out, but he settled down and took care of the heart of Seattle's order without too much more trouble. The right-hander has converted eight of his nine save chances to begin the year while posting a typically stingy 2.19 ERA and 1.05 WHIP through 12.1 innings, but there are signs Iglesias isn't quite in peak form -- his 94.5 mph average fastball is his lowest velocity since 2016, and his 18.0 percent strikeout rate is a massive drop from the 29.4 percent mark he delivered last season. His top velocity Wednesday was 95.3 mph, on a two-seamer to Luke Raley. Rotowire.com Thursday, 6:16 am
    • Raisel Iglesias dodges traffic to net eighth save
Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Mariners to collect his eighth save of the season.

Advice: Iglesias was summoned to guard a three-run lead in the final frame and certainly made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Luke Raley before giving up a single to ensuing batter Julio Rodríguez. He set down Mitch Haniger and Jorge Polanco before getting Cal Raleigh to ground out to preserve the victory. The 34-year-old veteran stopper has converted eight of nine save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.19 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 9/3 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings (13 appearances). • Gets back on track
Crochet didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk across five innings against the Twins. He struck out seven.

Advice: After surrendering five or more runs in three straight starts, Crochet snapped out of the funk and only allowed the Twins to score on a two-run homer by Carlos Santana in the second frame. Crochet also had strong command, walking just one batter after yielding seven walks and two hit-by-pitches in his last three outings. Although Crochet has been inconsistent to kick off 2024, his strikeout stuff has been elite, boasting the second most K's in baseball. He's lined up for a Saturday start against the Cardinals. • Garrett Crochet bounces back Monday vs. Twins
Garrett Crochet struck out seven and allowed two runs over five innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Twins.

Advice: Crochet gave up just two hits and only handed out one free pass as a second-inning homer by veteran Carlos Santana accounted for all of the damage against him. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 34 percent CSW. It was a much-needed bounce-back outing for the 24-year-old southpaw after allowing at least five earned runs in three consecutive starts since April 13. He’ll bring a bloated 5.97 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 47/9 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings (seven starts) into a road matchup on Sunday against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The underlying metrics suggest that he’s pitched better than his surface stats, which means fantasy managers should continue keeping him rostered outside of extremely shallow mixed leagues. • Earns league-leading ninth save
Foley allowed one hit and one walk over one scoreless frame to earn the save Sunday against the Royals. He struck out two.

Advice: Foley kept things interesting by allowing the first two batters he faced to reach but induced a groundout followed by two strikeouts to join four other relievers with his league-leading ninth save in as many opportunities. The Tigers' closer lowered his ERA to 1.38 with a 1.23 WHIP and 13 strikeouts across 13 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:32 pm
    • Jason Foley escapes with save on Sunday
Jason Foley pitched around two baserunners to earn a save in the Tigers’ 4-1 win over the Royals on Sunday.

Advice: Foley was called on to protect the three-run lead and immediately walked a batter and allowed a single. However, he was able to pitch himself out of trouble with a ground out and back-to-back strikeouts. The right-hander now has a 1.38 ERA and nine saves on the season. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:52 pm
    • Holds on for eighth save
Foley allowed two runs on three hits and no walks during the ninth inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-5 win against the Royals.

Advice: The right-hander was staked to a three-run lead and needed all of it as he surrendered his first earned runs of the campaign Saturday. Foley remains perfect in eight save chances this season and has a 1.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB across 12 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:09 am
