The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately retain his spot as the Dodgers' closer -- a role he thrived in prior to getting injured, giving up just one earned run in 13.2 frames while collecting eight saves. Elieser Hernandez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:20 pm
    • Dodgers activate Evan Phillips from 15-day IL
Dodgers activated RHP Evan Phillips from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: The 29-year-old closer finally returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen after landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. While Daniel Hudson and Blake Treinen did a nice job in his absence, expect Phillips to jump right into the team’s ninth-inning role. On the season, he holds a minuscule 0.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 17/4 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings of work while recording eight saves. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:57 pm
    • Back in lineup Friday
Hoskins will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth in Friday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Hoskins has been out of action since May 13 due to a right hamstring strain, and he was activated off the injured list Friday. He'll face off against White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:48 pm

    • Brewers activate Rhys Hoskins from 10-day IL
Brewers activated 1B Rhys Hoskins from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The 31-year-old slugger will make his triumphant return to the Brewers’ starting lineup on Friday night against the White Sox. Prior to landing on the injured list with a right hamstring strain, Hoskins was hitting .233/.340/.474 with nine homers and 27 RBI through his first 38 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:47 pm

    • Activated from IL
The Brewers reinstated Hoskins (hamstring) from the injured list Friday.

Advice: Hoskins has been on the injured list since he strained his right hamstring during a game against Pittsburgh on May 13. He was originally expected to come off the IL during Milwaukee's upcoming road series in Philadelphia, but the slugging first baseman will instead return a few days early without playing in any rehab games. Hoskins should immediately return to a near-everyday role for the Brewers, though he may see more action as a DH as he gets his hamstring used to playing in games again. Owen Miller was optioned to Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:42 pm

Advice: The 27-year-old infielder is considered day-to-day for the time being. • Astros don’t provide update on Cristian Javier
Astros’ manager Joe Espada did not give an update on right-handers Cristian Javier and Jose Urquidy on Friday, aside from saying that he’s giving both pitchers space while they are awaiting second opinions.

Advice: If that’s not discouraging enough, Espada also refused to comment when asked if the pitchers’ UCL’s were intact. Lovely. The Astros should provide full updates on the status of both hurlers in the coming days once they get their second opinions, but it doesn’t sound good. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:16 pm

    • Triple, three RBI in win
Soto went 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBI in Thursday's win over the Angels while also drawing two walks.

Advice: The right fielder walked in his second plate appearance before coming around to score on a home run from Aaron Judge. Soto would later add a bases-loaded triple in the seventh as he reached base three times for the second consecutive game. He's up to 24 RBI in the month of May, and his 49 RBI on the season have him tied for second in MLB with Marcell Ozuna, behind only Jose Ramirez's 57. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:47 am
