    • Collects another win
Suarez (4-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over the A's, giving up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning and striking out one.

Advice: For the second straight game, Suarez benefited from a Padres walk-off homer, with Wednesday's coming off the bat of Jackson Merrill. The right-hander has been tagged for a run in only one of his 26 appearances since the beginning of April, and on the season Suarez sports a sparkling 0.61 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB through 29.1 innings. • Earns 10th save
Jansen earned a save against the Phillies on Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit and a walk with one strikeout.

Advice: Tasked with protecting a three-run lead in the ninth inning, Jansen allowed Bryce Harper to score after a leadoff double but was able to lock up his first save since May 26. While it was a long stretch between save chances, Jansen is now 10-for-11 on the season and has not blown a save since April 16. He currently owns a 2.91 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 30:11 K:BB in 21.2 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:56 pm

    • Kenley Jansen notches first save of June
Kenley Jansen recorded his 10th save after allowing one run in the ninth Wednesday against the Phillies.

Advice: A softly hit double, a balk and a sac fly produced the run. Fortunately, Jansen entered with a three-run cushion, and he recorded his first save since May 26. It’s not at all his fault; the Red Sox just aren’t generating many save chances these days. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:37 pm

    • Labors in no-decision
Assad did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 win over Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Assad opened with two scoreless frames then allowed a run in the third on a double by Isaac Paredes and another on a solo home run by Jose Siri in the fourth. With two runners on and two outs in the fifth, Assad was pulled at 90 pitches with a 2-1 deficit. Since his last win on May 15, Assad has failed to reach six innings or record a win in five straight outings and has seen his ERA climb from 1.49 to 2.81. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the Giants next Monday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:44 pm

    • Javier Assad lifted in fifth versus Rays
Javier Assad was lifted after allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday against the Rays.

Advice: Tyson Miller stranded two runners after taking over for Assad in the fifth. After opening the season 4-0 with a 1.49 ERA in nine starts, Assad has gone 0-2 with a 5.32 ERA in his last five turns. The truth for Assad is somewhere in between, of course, but it’s probably a little closer to the latter than the former. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:14 pm

    • Cleared to start Sunday
Lively (undisclosed) is listed as the Guardians' probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Advice: Lively experienced some unspecified tightness during his most recent start in Miami on Saturday, when he tossed five shutout innings prior to being lifted. The issue won't result in Lively's turn being skipped, but he'll be pushed back in the schedule and given a full week off before stepping back into the rotation. After joining the Guardians this offseason on a modest one-year, $750,000 contract, Lively has been a valuable piece of the Cleveland rotation in 2024, going 6-2 with a 2.59 ERA and 1.11 WHIP over 55.2 innings across 10 starts. • Hangs on for save
Bednar picked up the save Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing a solo home run and a walk with two strikeouts during the ninth inning.

Advice: Bednar took the mound with the Pirates ahead by two and yielded a homer to Nolan Gorman to kick off the ninth. While he retired Nolan Arenado and Brendan Donovan back-to-back, Bednar walked Jose Fermin and a catcher's interference put runners on first and second. However, Bednar avoided disaster, striking out Mike Siani to complete his 14th save. Although he owns a 5.40 ERA, Bednar ranks eighth in saves and owns a 30:7 K:BB across 28.1 innings. • Snags win Tuesday
Suarez (3-0) pitched 1.1 perfect innings and earned the win Tuesday over the Athletics.

Advice: Suarez kept the game tied at 3-3 during his appearance, and Kyle Higashioka delivered a walk-off blast for the Padres in the ninth inning. This was just Suarez's third appearance in June, as save chances have been rare for the Padres recently -- the team lost six of eight games prior to the start of this week's series versus the Athletics. Suarez has been dominant in the closer role with a 0.64 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB over 28.1 innings while converting all 17 of his save chances and adding one hold. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:59 pm
    • Bednar gives up homer, earns 14th save vs. Cards
David Bednar allowed one earned run while picking up the save in Tuesday’s win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Bednar earned his 14th save on the season in this one, but it didn’t come easy. After giving up a leadoff homer to Nolan Gorman to kick off the ninth, Bednar would later walk José Fermin with two outs before a catcher’s interference put Iván Herrera on base. Bednar would strike out Michael Siani to end the game, but it was yet another rough outing for Bednar, who is sporting a 5.40 ERA on the year. He’s hard to trust in fantasy, but Bednar will continue to earn save opportunities in a Pirates bullpen that has underwhelmed in 2024. Rotoworld Tuesday, 7:22 pm
