    • Tyler Anderson throws quality start in no-decision
Tyler Anderson pitched 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball Monday against the Padres.

Advice: Anderson has made a mockery of the metrics all season, but especially lately; his last four starts have seen him allow a total of four runs even though he’s given up three homers and posted a 14/13 K/BB ratio in 26 2/3 innings. His 2.37 ERA on the year is more than two runs lower than his FIP. One imagines it will all catch up with him at some point. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:19 pm
    • Goes deep, swipes bag
Machado went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Machado's solo shot in the first inning was the lone run for the Padres in Monday's loss. He was intentionally walked twice and also stole his fourth base of the year. The long ball snapped a brutal 26-game drought since his last homer May 3; during that cold streak, he posted a .591 OPS. Machado is now slashing .242/.307/.372 with 17 extra-base hits and 32 RBI through 244 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:04 pm

    • Yields one run in no-decision
Anderson allowed a run on five hits and three walks over 6.2 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out two during the victory against San Diego.

Advice: Anderson served up a solo shot to Manny Machado in the first inning but otherwise worked around danger for the rest of the night. Anderson has given up exactly one run in four straight outings despite registering a lackluster 14:13 K:BB during that span. On the year, his ERA is down to an impressive 2.37, while he's delivered eight quality starts in 12 appearances. Anderson's next start is in line to be at home against the Astros. • Santander blasts 11th home run Monday
Anthony Santander went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Santander’s 11th of the season. His ISO is up to .228, which would be a career-high not including the shortened 2020 season. Santander is hitting just .228, but his .227 BABIP is well below his career .269 BABIP. His strikeout percentage is 18 percent, which is below his career 20 percent strikeout percentage. Santander’s power is still there and he’s just been unlucky with his average so far.

    • Hitting on field, fields grounders
Drury (hamstring) will hit on the field and take grounders Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: Drury will probably need to run the bases before being cleared for a rehab assignment. It's not clear when that might occur, but he's progressing steadily. The veteran infielder has been sidelined since early May with a left hamstring strain. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:36 pm

    • Brandon Drury (hamstring) works out on field
Brandon Drury hit and took grounders on the field prior to Monday’s game.

Advice: Drury has been out for nearly four weeks due to a hamstring strain, but it sounds like a return date is within site. He’ll probably require a couple of minor league games before being activated. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:22 pm

    • Reinstated from IL
The Giants reinstated Conforto (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Conforto appeared in two rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento over the weekend, going 1-for-5 with one walk and one strikeout. Conforto was slashing .324/.410/.588 with two home runs and four RBI in May before landing on the injured list due to a right hamstring strain. Conforto is starting in left field Monday and batting in the cleanup spot against Diamondbacks right-hander Ryne Nelson, per Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area. • Giants get Michael Conforto back from injured list
Giants activated OF Michael Corforto from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Blake Snell went on the IL, allowing the Giants a chance to push back the decision on which hitter to cut to make room for Conforto. Heliot Ramos will be displaced from left field by Conforto’s return, but he figures to remain in the lineup the majority of the time, probably at Luis Matos’s expense. • Hamstring strain 'very mild'
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Marsh, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday is dealing with a "very mild" right hamstring strain, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Marsh strained the hamstring late in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. While the Phillies aren't putting an official timeline on Marsh's return from the IL, he appears to have a shot to make it back when he's first eligible June 13, or close to it. David Dahl was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move and will start in left field in Marsh's place in Monday's game against the Brewers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:44 pm
