    • Earns fourth straight win
Lodolo (7-2) earned the win against the Guardians on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks with six strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: After retiring the first three batters he faced, Lodolo had traffic on the bases all night but limited the damage to just two runs. Lodolo even hit two batters, but he was able to battle for his fourth consecutive win and third straight quality start. Despite two stints on the injured list, Lodolo has had a huge bounceback season and now owns a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 62:15 K:BB through 10 starts. He tentatively lines up to face the Pirates next Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:07 pm
    • Nick Lodolo beats Guardians to earn seventh win
Nick Lodolo picked up his seventh victory of the season on Wednesday, limiting the Guardians to just two runs on seven hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 26-year-old southpaw struck out six batters on the evening while issuing three free passes. Lodolo walked David Fry with the bases loaded in the third inning to force in a run, then they scratched out a second run as Andres Gimenez bounced into a fielder’s choice in the fifth inning. Lodolo got 13 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the ballgame, registering a CSW of 23 percent. Now 7-2 on the season, he’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he brings a 2.93 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 62/15 K/BB ratio (58 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s showdown against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. • Zack Gelof has two hits, RBI in loss to Padres
Zack Gelof went 2-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday in the Athletics’ loss to the Padres.

Advice: Gelof was one of the few bright spots in this one as briefly gave Oakland a lead in the late stages of the contest with an RBI double in the eighth inning off Padres reliever Jeremiah Estrada. The 24-year-old second baseman has gotten off to an ice-cold start this season, but is still chipping in the occasional homer and stolen base to salvage some semblance of fantasy relevance, despite an abysmal batting average. • Woo! MRI on right-hander’s forearm returns clean
Mariners’ manager Scott Servais told reporters on Wednesday that the MRI on the forearm of injured right-hander Bryan Woo came back clean.

Advice: Too often in situations like these, a forearm strain leads to instability in the elbow, then the MRI reveals structural damage and another talented hurler heads for Tommy John surgery. It’s very refreshing to hear in this case that Woo won’t even require a trip to the injured list and could return to the Mariners’ rotation as early as next week. The 24-year-old hurler has been terrific this season, registering a 1.07 ERA, 0.54 WHIP and a 24/2 K/BB ratio over 33 2/3 innings in his first six starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:14 pm

    • MRI comes back clean
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Wednesday that the MRI on Woo's arm "was perfectly clean," and the right-hander could be reinserted into the rotation as early as next week, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 24-year-old was scratched ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday against the White Sox due to what the team labeled as a "right forearm issue," but he doesn't appear to be dealing with anything too serious. It's unclear when exactly Woo will make his next start, though it seems the Mariners will attempt to avoid putting him on the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:00 pm

    • Set to regain closer role
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Wednesday that Diaz (shoulder) will immediately become the team's closer upon his activation from the 15-day injured list Thursday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Diaz had been part of a committee at closer for the Mets prior to landing on the IL with a right shoulder impingement in late May. However, Mendoza is now ready to restore Diaz to his old role beginning with Thursday's contest against the Marlins. Diaz has converted four of his nine save chances this season while holding a 5.40 ERA and 30:7 K:BB over 20 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:13 pm

    • Edwin Diaz to jump right back into closer’s role
Mets’ manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed Wednesday that Edwin Diaz will jump right back into the closer’s role upon his return from the injured list on Thursday.

Advice: Mendoza told reporters, “For us to make a run at this, we’re going to need Diaz to be Edwin Diaz.” That means Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino will shift back into their high-leverage roles in the seventh and eighth innings. Before landing on the injured list with his right shoulder impingement, Diaz had posted a troublesome 5.40 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 30/7 K/BB ratio across 20 innings of work through his first 20 appearances on the year. • Getting day off amid slump
Rooker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Rooker will cede designated hitter duties to JJ Bleday and get a breather for the series finale after he had started in each of the Athletics' last 14 games. During that stretch, Rooker slashed just .196/.281/.392 with a 40.4 percent strikeout rate, so the day off could prove beneficial while he's in the midst of a slump at the dish. • Brent Rooker out of the lineup amidst slump
Brent Rooker is not in the Athletics’ lineup on Wednesday against the Padres.

Advice: Rooker is a notoriously streaky hitter, and things have not been going well for him over the last three weeks. The slugger is hitting .212/.316/.394 over his last 18 games with two home runs, eight RBI, and a 39.5 percent strikeout rate. We’ve seen Rooker go through these prolonged slumps in the past due to his low contact rate, so it might be safe to treat him as a streamer in shallower formats and see if you can roster a hitter trending in the right direction. Daz Cameron will start in center field and take Rooker’s place in the lineup on Wednesday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:25 pm
