      Advice: Rengifo has gone 4-for-18 with three steals, one RBI and two extra-base hits over four contests since he returned from an illness. The infielder is slashing .312/.364/.450 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 15 runs scored and 12 thefts through 32 games this season.       Luis Rengifo had two hits and two steals against the Astros on Monday.

      Advice: The second steal saw him jam his left hand into second base, leaving him with an injured middle finger in spite of the oven mitt he was wearing.       Advice: Verdugo opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first inning and later knocked an RBI single. After posting an .804 OPS in his first 29 games, he's struggled in 17 games this month, going 15-for-64 (.234) with five extra-base hits.       Alex Verdugo went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI against the Mariners on Monday.



      Advice: Verdugo’s career-high in home runs is just 13, but he has a nice spot in the middle of the Yankees’ order as the clean-up hitter against right-handed starting pitchers. Verdugo has 22 runs scored and 24 RBI in 46 games this season.

      The Padres are calling Xander Bogaerts’ injury left shoulder inflammation.

      Advice: It’s an odd diagnosis, being that this was a sudden injury sustained while diving for a ball, but it’s what we’re left with after the Padres couldn’t initially find anything serious going on within the shoulder.       Reynaldo López yielded two runs in 6 1/3 innings versus the Padres to take a no-decision in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader.

      Advice: López exited with a 5-1 lead in the seventh before one of his two inherited runners scored. That wasn’t bad, but then the Padres went on to score four runs off Joe Jiménez in the eighth to win the game.       Advice: The veteran infielder exited Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader after he suffered the injury while making a diving stop at second base.     • Xander Bogaerts leaves game with shoulder injury
      Xander Bogaerts left Monday’s game against the Braves with a shoulder injury.

      Advice: Bogaerts dove for a ball and came up grabbing his shoulder. While there is no immediate information on the extent of the injury, Bogaerts was removed from the game and was in clear pain. It was a play reminiscent of the one that injured Trevor Story earlier in the year.
