    • Ronel Blanco can’t overcome red-hot Mets
      Ronel Blano was pulled after 5 2/3 innings after allowing six runs, three earned, on Friday against the Mets. He struck out five and walked three in a loss.

      Advice: Blanco pitched fine Friday. His three unearned runs came as a result of an Alex Bregman two-out error that allowed Jeff McNeil to sneak a ball just over the right field fence in the next at-bat. That was the Mets’ third home run of the game as Tyrone Taylor and Pete Alonso also left the yard. He still missed plenty of bats with 12 whiffs on the day and would have earned his fourth straight quality start if Bregman had fielded that ground ball cleanly. Rotoworld Friday, 7:21 pm

    • Tosses complete-game shutout
      Sanchez (6-3) earned the win against the Marlins on Friday, allowing three hits and no walks over nine scoreless innings while striking out nine.

      Advice: Sanchez was dominant, allowing only singles and generating 16 swinging strikes on 101 pitches in his first career complete-game shutout. Since June 17, the southpaw has won three straight contests and surrendered just one earned run over 23 innings with an 18:1 K:BB.       Cristopher Sánchez delivered a dazzling performance against the Marlins on Friday night, racking up nine strikeouts while recording his first career shutout.

      Advice: The 27-year-old left-hander scattered just three hits on the night — all of them singles — and didn’t walk a batter. He needed just 101 pitches (73 strikes) to navigate his nine brilliant innings. Sánchez generated 16 swings and misses in the ballgame — eight of those on his changeup — while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. Now 6-3 on the season, he’ll look to keep the good times rolling as he carries a pristine 2.41 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and a 79/24 K/BB ratio (93 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.       Advice: Burnes will likely be away for the remainder of the series against the Rangers as he welcomes a new addition to the family.       Abbott (7-6) picked up the win over the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks over five innings while striking out two.

      Advice: The only runs charged to Abbott on the night came on a two-run homer from Nolan Arenado in the bottom of the third, as the lefty managed to pitch his way out of trouble the rest of the time despite issuing a season-high six free passes. Abbott has now won four of his last five starts, though he finishes the month of June with 15 walks, compared to just six in May.     • Cakewalks to ninth win
      Burnes (9-3) earned the victory over Texas on Thursday, allowing one run on nine hits and no walks while striking out five batters over seven innings.

      Advice: The Orioles were up 3-0 after one inning and 6-0 after three, so Burnes didn't face much pressure in the outing. The right-hander did tie a season-worst mark in allowing nine hits, but only one of those -- a fourth-inning Adolis Garcia solo homer -- went for extra bases. Burnes recorded a quality start after snapping a 10-game streak of such performances in his previous outing. He's tied for the MLB lead in that category with 13 on the campaign and has posted excellent numbers in his first season as an Oriole with a 2.28 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 99:24 K:BB over 106.2 innings.     • India stays red hot with two-hit game Thursday
      Jonathan India went 2-for-4 with a run scored, a double and an RBI against the Cardinals on Thursday.



      Advice: India started the game with a single and scored on Elly De La Cruz’s RBI triple. In the second inning, he had an RBI double to give the Reds a 2-0 lead. India is now on a nine-game hitting streak and he’s 17-for-33 (.515) in that stretch. In June, he’s 30-for-80 (.375) with 18 runs scored and 14 RBI in 24 games. India’s average is up to .272 on the season with a .771 OPS and 32 RBI.

    • Abbott allows two runs in win Thursday
      Andrew Abbott allowed two runs in five innings and got the win in the Reds’ 11-4 victory over the Cardinals on Thursday.



      Advice: Abbott gave up two hits, walked six and struck out two. Abbott wasn’t sharp as the six walks were a season-high, but the Reds scored 10 runs while he was in the game and he was able to grind out five innings to earn his seventh win of the season. Abbott has won four of his last five starts and has a 3.41 ERA on the year. The 25-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road next week.
