    • X-rays on elbow negative
      Benson was removed from Sunday's loss to Boston after getting hit by a pitch on the inside of his left elbow, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports. X-rays following the game came back negative.

      Advice: Benson was plunked during the bottom of the eighth inning and stayed in the game to run, but he was replaced by Nick Martini for the top of the ninth. Prior to leaving, Benson went 0-for-3, running his hitless streak to a career-high 21 at-bats. It's unclear if the injury will force Benson to miss much action, but it's unlikely he will be in the lineup Monday against Pittsburgh left-hander Bailey Falter.     • Three hits, including homer in win
      Naylor went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.

      Advice: Naylor secured a single in the first inning before notching a double and coming around to score in the third. He later added his 20th home run of the season in the bottom of the fourth frame, taking reliever Brendon Little deep for a solo shot, expanding Cleveland's lead to 6-3. Naylor has now tallied at least one hit in nine of the team's last 11 contests, batting .372 with four home runs, 11 RBI and eight runs scored over that stretch.     • Throws eight shutout innings
      Lopez (7-6) allowed two hits and one walk while striking out 14 over eight shutout innings to earn the win Sunday over the Athletics.

      Advice: Lopez retired the first 17 batters he faced before Lawrence Butler's sixth-inning single. This was Lopez's first scoreless outing of the season as well as his longest start, and the 14 strikeouts were a season high. He'd given up 14 runs over 13 innings across his first three starts in June. Even with this gem, Lopez has a 5.11 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 101:19 K:BB through 88 innings across 16 starts this year. Considering he's posted a career-worst 1.6 HR/9, it's likely a fair amount of his struggles have come from bad luck with the long ball, as the rest of his underlying numbers are in line with his usual level of performance.     • Pablo López strikes out 14 in victory over A’s
      Pablo López delivered his finest start of the season on Sunday, racking up 14 strikeouts over eight innings of shutout baseball in a victory over the Athletics.

      Advice: López allowed just two hits — both of them singles — and one walk on the brilliant afternoon. The 28-year-old hurler bounced back in a huge way after being shelled by the Rays his last time out, looking like the star hurler that we saw dominating on a nightly basis for the Twins during the 2023 campaign. He piled up 19 swings and misses on 102 pitches in the contest — 10 of those on his fastball alone — while posting a CSW of 31 percent.     • Labors in rehab start
      Snell (groin) made a rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Sacramento, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while failing to strike out a batter across 1.2 innings.

      Advice: Snell wasn't particularly effective in the first start of his rehab assignment, throwing just 27 of his 51 pitches for strikes in a 5-4 win over Round Rock. Following the contest, the left-hander said he anticipates needing at least one more rehab appearance, if not more, stating that he wants to be "healthy and 100 percent" before he returns from the 15-day injured list, according to Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle.       Josh Naylor went 3-for-5 with a home run, double, and two runs scored on Sunday in a 6-5 win over the Blue Jays.

      Blake Snell (groin) struggled in his first minor league rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks over just 1 2/3 innings.

      Advice: None of the five outs that the 31-year-old southpaw did record came via the strikeout. Snell threw 51 pitches in contest, 27 of those for strikes. The expectation was always that Snell would require at least two rehab starts before he was ready to return, and given his struggles on Sunday it’s likely that they’ll want to see better before they bring him back.     • Will Benson leaves game after HBP on Sunday
      Will Benson was removed from Sunday’s game against the Red Sox after he was hit on the left elbow by a pitch.

      Advice: Benson was initially able to talk his way into staying in the game to run the bases for himself, but he was replaced when the Reds took the field defensively in the ninth inning. He’ll presumably head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage.       Eugenio Suárez went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the loss to the Phillies on Sunday.

      Advice: There was talk of Suárez playing less after Geraldo Perdomo came off the IL earlier this month, but it’s barely materialized; he sat out two of Arizona’s first five games with Perdomo back, but he’s now started six in a row, even though his results have remained awful.
