    • Stays hot in win
Ramos went 3-for-5 with one RBI in Friday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Ramos logged multiple hits for the fourth time in the last five games. This was also his this time leading off in that span, and the first time he's been atop the order against a right-handed pitcher (Michael Lorenzen). Ramos is slashing .320/.416/.515 with five home runs, 20 RBI, 12 runs scored and one stolen base over 27 contests. As long as he's swinging a hot bat, it makes sense to have him at leadoff, especially since he's displayed improved plate discipline with a 13.2 percent walk rate this year. • Clubs homer in loss
Pillar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Pillar had gone 1-for-10 over his first four games in June before this multi-hit effort. His second-inning homer was all the Angels could put up against Framber Valdez, who pitched a complete game. Pillar is up to seven homers, 26 RBI, 17 runs scored and a .324/.379/.590 slash line over 117 plate appearances between the Angels and the White Sox this season. Despite his strong numbers recently, he's been on the bench for two of the last five games, which suggests Pillar doesn't have a full-time role against right-handed pitchers. • Michael Lorenzen lifted in fifth against Giants
Michael Lorenzen surrendered two runs in 4 1/3 innings versus the Giants on Friday.

Advice: Lorenzen left down 2-0, but the Rangers let him off the hook in the bottom of fifth before going to lose 5-2. It’s the first time in 10 starts this year that Lorenzen has failed to complete five innings and just the second time he hasn’t gone six. He might be booted out of the rotation at some point in the second half if the Rangers ever get completely healthy, but he’s been quite good thus far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:38 pm
    • Yanked early Friday
Lorenzen yielded two runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.1 innings in a no-decision Friday. He struck out one during the loss to the Giants.

Advice: Despite facing plenty of traffic on the basepaths, both runs allowed by Lorenzen were solo shots by Wilmer Flores. It was Lorenzen's shortest outing of the year and snapped his streak of four straight quality starts entering Friday. Since coughing up six runs against Oakland on May 8, he's registered a 1.50 ERA over his last five starts, lowering his season number to 3.05 through 59 innings. Lorenzen's next start is currently scheduled to be a road matchup with the Dodgers next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:32 pm
    • Finnegan picks up 17th save against Braves Friday
Kyle Finnegan tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save against the Braves on Friday.

Advice: The save was Finnegan’s 17th of the season. He added two strikeouts in the process. His ERA is now 1.80 on the season. Finnegan has come out of nowhere to be one of the best closers in all of fantasy this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:10 pm
    • Irvin throws six scoreless innings in win Friday
Jake Irvin threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Nationals’ 2-1 victory over the Braves on Friday.

Advice: Irvin gave up four hits, walked two and struck out four. The win was his fourth of the season. Irvin has allowed more than two earned runs in only one of his last eight starts. His ERA is down to 3.12 and he has a SO:BB of 64:14 in 75 innings. Irvin has been consistently good this season and it’s mostly supported by a 3.56 xFIP. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Tigers on the road next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:02 pm

    • Vierling on base twice in loss Friday
Matt Vierling went 1-for-3 with a walk against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: It was a quiet night for the Tigers offense as they were shutout and managed only two hits. Still, Vierling got on base twice out of the leadoff spot. His average is up to .282 with a .794 OPS on the season. Obviously, he’s not going to put up big time run totals given the state of Detroit’s offense, but he’s been a viable option even in mixed leagues so far this season. • Up to 17 saves
Finnegan earned the save Friday in a 2-1 win over Atlanta, striking out a pair in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Finnegan is now 17-for-19 in save chances this year, tied for fourth-most in the majors. The right-hander's allowed just two earned runs in his last 23 appearances (23.1 innings), lowering his ERA to 1.80 with a 0.92 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB across 25 innings this season. • Lands on IL
The Astros placed Tucker on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right shin contusion, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: Tucker has been held out of action since he fouled a ball off his right shin during Monday's game against the Cardinals. Manager Joe Espada said Friday that Tucker is feeling much better since then, per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle, though the outfielder's recovery has progressed much slower than the team initially expected. His move to the IL is retroactive to Tuesday, which will allow him to potentially return next Friday for the start of Houston's weekend series with the Tigers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:20 pm
