• Still has manager's confidence
Rosario has remained a regular in the Nationals' lineup despite his early-season struggles, and manager Dave Martinez hasn't given up on the 32-year-old, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

Advice: "It's early," Martinez said Thursday. "You've got to give him a chance, you really do. I'm not going to sit him down yet right now. He's got to go out there and play. ... I've seen him play before. This kid can hit. He can put you on his shoulders." At the moment, Rosario is handling the strong side of a platoon in right field while Lane Thomas (knee) is injured, but he's mired in an 0-for-27 slump that has sunk his slash line on the season to .086/.133/.157. Rosario has a history of slow starts, but even his xBA and xwOBA are in the bottom one percent of qualified hitters. Once Thomas gets healthy, the Nats may not be able to afford to stay patient with Rosario, especially with top prospect James Wood also making a strong case for a promotion to the majors. • Swipes bag in Thursday's start
Myers went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Rockies.

Advice: Getting the start in left field and batting seventh against right-hander Peter Lambert, Myers led off the bottom of the fourth inning by drawing a walk and promptly swiping second base, coming around to score on a Nick Fortes single. Myers has seen regular action between all three outfield positions since being promoted in late April and has gone 5-for-11 at the plate with a steal, three runs and five RBI, and if he keeps producing he represents a threat to the playing time of the struggling Nick Gordon (.516 OPS) and Jesus Sanchez (.614 OPS). • Out of lineup again Friday
Chourio is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: It's the first time this season that he's been held out of the lineup in consecutive games. Since April 16, Chourio is slashing just .140/.196/.233 while striking out at a rate of 38.3 percent. Jake Bauers and Sal Frelick are in the corner outfield spots for Milwaukee on Friday. • On base three times in win
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two RBI in Thursday's extra-innings win over the Cubs.

Advice: The 31-year-old is coming to life from the leadoff spot, reaching base multiple times in five of his last seven starts and batting .286 (8-for-28) over that stretch with a .394 OBP. Nimmo's .216/.365/.360 slash line on the season remains disappointing for fantasy purposes, but he's chipped in three homers, two steals, 15 runs and 20 RBI in 30 contests. • Scores three times Thursday
Bader went 2-for-4 with three runs scored in Thursday's extra-innings win over the Cubs.

Advice: After singling and crossing the plate in the fifth and sixth innings, Bader got hit by a pitch to lead off the 11th and scored the winning run after a Francisco Lindor double. Bader has scored only once in his prior nine games while batting .143 (4-for-28), but overall the center fielder is having a solid first season with the Mets. Through 93 plate appearances, he's slashing .281/.312/.337 with a homer, five steals, seven RBI and 13 runs. Rotowire.com Today, 8:05 am
  • Progresses to batting practice
Suzuki (oblique) took on-field batting practice Wednesday, Meghan Montemurro and LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune report.

Advice: It's the first time he's taken BP since he suffered a right oblique strain on April 14. Suzuki has estimated that he's 80 percent recovered from the injury and he could be in line to begin a rehab assignment next week if he continues trending in the right direction. A return to the Cubs' active roster by mid-May looks doable for the outfielder. Rotowire.com Today, 6:14 am

  • Double, RBI in loss
O'Neill went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Giants.

Advice: O'Neill had a terrific first month in a Boston uniform and continues to outperform his career standards. The outfielder, who is one plate appearance shy of qualifying, has a 1.096 OPS which ranks second in MLB behind only Mookie Betts. Rotowire.com Today, 4:16 am
  • Starts against lefty
Carter started in center field and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Thursday's 6-0 win over Washington.

Advice: Carter got the rare start against a left-hander and produced his second hit in 16 at-bats against a southpaw. Texas manager Bruce Bochy has shied away from using Carter in these situations but gave him a shot Thursday with Leody Taveras getting the night off. Rangers general manager Chris Young explained to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that Carter has not faced the quality of stuff that major-league lefties have at this point in his MLB career, suggesting they are bringing the 21-year-old along slowly in that regard. "I think [Bochy] is doing a very good job of giving him his fair share of at-bats against lefties knowing that there's only one way to develop, and that's to go through it," the GM said. Young also noted Carter's advanced aptitude and is confident he'll eventually succeed against all pitchers. Rotowire.com Today, 3:33 am
  • Racks up three more hits
Brennan went 3-for-4 in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Brennan's playing time has steadied lately with the Guardians facing five straight right-handed pitchers. The outfielder's results are still all over the place -- Brennan has five multi-hit efforts and three home runs over his last nine games, but he's gone 0-fer in the other four contests in that span. His trio of singles Thursday lifted his batting average from .228 to .253, and he's added four homers, 11 RBI, 13 runs scored and two stolen bases through 90 plate appearances on the year. Brennan remains in a strong-side platoon role with the majority of his playing time coming in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:06 pm
