    • Shuts down Cubs
Severino didn't factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on one hit and two walks over eight innings against the Cubs. He struck out five.

Advice: Severino was locked into a pitchers duel with Jameson Taillon, as the pair of starters each went deeper than seven innings while allowing just one run. Individually, Severino took a no-hitter into the eighth. However, Severino's efforts were for naught as Edwin Diaz surrendered a pair of runs in the ninth inning, leading to the Cubs' win. After posting a career-worst 6.65 ERA across 89.1 innings in 2023, Severino boasts a 2.31 ERA through 35.0 innings in his first season with the Metropolitans. He's lined up to face the Rays on Saturday. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:39 pm

    • Luis Severino takes no-hit bid into eighth vs Cubs
Luis Severino allowed one run over eight innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Cubs.

Advice: Severino kept a no-hit bid alive into the eighth inning before finally surrendering a line-drive single to Dansby Swanson following a leadoff walk to Michael Busch. An RBI ground out from Nick Madrigal later in the frame represented the lone tally against him over eight masterful frames. He tallied five strikeouts and only issued two walks. He wasn’t overpowering in this one, generating 13 swinging strikes and finishing with a pedestrian 28 percent CSW, but allowed just six batted balls with an exit velocity over 95 mph. The 30-year-old righty has been excellent in his Mets debut, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six consecutive outings to open the year. He’ll bring a pristine 2.31 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 31/11 K/BB ratio across 35 innings (six starts) into a road tilt on Saturday against the Rays. Rotoworld Monday, 6:26 pm

    • Excels versus Cubs
Houck didn't factor into the decision in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Cubs, allowing one run on four hits and zero walks while striking out nine over 6.2 innings.

Advice: Houck kept the Cubs off the scoreboard until Matt Mervis scratched an RBI-single off him with two outs in the seventh, which wound up being the last batter he faced. Sunday was already his third start this season with at least nine strikeouts and zero walks. The 28-year-old boasts a 1.60 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 41:5 K:BB in 39.1 innings and projects for a road start against the Twins his next time out. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:52 am

    • Tanner Houck fans nine in tough-luck no-decision
Tanner Houck was brilliant in a tough-luck no-decision on Sunday night, piling up nine strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: Houck scattered just four hits on the evening and didn’t walk a batter. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single by Matt Mervis in the seventh inning — the final batter that Houck faced. The 27-year-old right-hander generated 16 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night — getting five or more whiffs on each of his slider, sinker and splitter — while posting a CSW of 35 percent. He’ll bring a pristine 1.60 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 41/5 K/BB ratio (39 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Twins in Minnesota. Rotoworld Sunday, 6:47 pm

    • Lit up by Orioles
Blackburn did not factor into the decision during Sunday's 7-6 win over the Orioles, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over four innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Blackburn was lit up by the Orioles, allowing four extra-base hits, including three home runs. He was on the hook for his second loss until the A's salvaged the come-from-behind win. Following a flawless start to the season that saw him allow no earned runs spanning 19.1 innings through his first three starts, Blackburn has progressively regressed over his next three starts, allowing 13 runs over that 15.2 inning stretch. He'll look to right the ship during his next start, tentatively slated to take place next weekend when the Miami Marlins come to Oakland for a three-game set. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:48 pm
    • Struggles in Milwaukee
Stroman pitched four innings, giving up four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four in Sunday's 15-5 win over the Brewers. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Stroman was able to survive four scoreless frames to open Sunday's outing before the wheels fell off in the bottom of the fifth. He allowed all five batters he faced in the inning to reach base, including a three-run home run by Jake Bauers, which knotted the game up at 4-4. The 32-year-old has now surrendered five total homers over his last four starts after not giving one up in either of his first two outings in 2024. Stroman now owns a 3.69 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 32 strikeouts over 31.2 innings in six starts this season, and he's tentatively set to return to the mound Friday home for a matchup against the Tigers. • Marcus Stroman can’t survive fifth versus Brewers
Marcus Stroman yielded four runs and five walks in four-plus innings Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Stroman kept pitching out of trouble early, but the fifth started with a walk, an infield single, an RBI double, a three-run homer and another walk before he was finally pulled. In all, Stroman allowed six hits, walked five and hit a batter. He seems pretty lucky to have a 3.69 ERA through six starts. Last year, he had a 3.95 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP with just nine homers allowed in 136 2/3 innings. His WHIP is 1.43 at the moment, and he’s given up five homers in 31 2/3 innings. • Earns league-leading ninth save
Foley allowed one hit and one walk over one scoreless frame to earn the save Sunday against the Royals. He struck out two.

Advice: Foley kept things interesting by allowing the first two batters he faced to reach but induced a groundout followed by two strikeouts to join four other relievers with his league-leading ninth save in as many opportunities. The Tigers' closer lowered his ERA to 1.38 with a 1.23 WHIP and 13 strikeouts across 13 innings. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:32 pm

    • Paul Blackburn hit hard in no-decision against BAL
Paul Blackburn allowed six runs on seven hits in four innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: It likely wasn’t a game you were starting Blackburn in, but the righty did have five strikeouts to just one walk, while producing a 33 percent whiff rate. His four-seamer was a real problem on Sunday, struggling to find the zone and getting hit incredibly hard. He now has a 3.34 ERA on the season but could remain a deep-league streamer next week against Miami thanks to the weak opponent and his current whiff skills. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:21 pm
