Seth Lugo delivered another dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Rays, surrendering just one run on four hits over seven strong frames.
Advice: Lugo punched out three batters on the evening while issuing a pair of walks. The lone tally against him came on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jonathan Aranda in the opening inning. After that, he was brilliant. The 34-year-old right-hander generated eight swings and misses on 104 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 19 percent. Now 8-1 on the season, he’ll carry a stellar 1.74 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 61/15 K/BB ratio (72 1/3 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Twins in Minnesota.
