    • Vierling posts multi-hit game in win Tuesday
Matt Vierling went 2-for-5 with two RBI in the victory over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: Vierling continues to hit as his .282 average and .155 ISO this year would be career-highs. The Tigers sent Parker Meadows to the minors earlier this week, leaving Vierling and Wenceel Perez as the only viable options in centerfield. Vierling has multiple paths to playing time as even with Perez in the lineup he got the start at third base. He should see everyday at-bats until he cools off, making him an option in deeper formats. • CT scan on Ryan Pepiot’s leg comes back negative
A CT scan on Ryan Pepiot’s left leg came back negative for any fractures.

Advice: Pepiot was sent for some additional imaging after taking a 107.5 mph comebacker off his left leg during Sunday’s series finale against the Mets. The positive news is that he appears to have avoided serious injury, but Rays manager Kevin Cash indicated late Tuesday that the 26-year-old righty is likely headed for the injured list. It’s a tough break for fantasy managers since Pepiot has been pitching extremely well this season in his Tampa Bay debut. Rotoworld Today, 6:27 pm

    • Isaac Paredes posts three hits, homers in win
Isaac Paredes went 3-for-4 with a solo homer on Tuesday, leading the Rays to a 5-1 victory over the White Sox.

Advice: Paredes ripped an absolute moonshot to left field in the sixth inning off Chicago reliever Brad Keller for his eighth round-tripper of the season. It was the first time he’s gone deep since April 28. The 25-year-old pull-happy slugger has been a four-category fantasy monster this season with a .299 batting average through 34 contests. • Allen shelled against the Tigers
Logan Allen allowed seven earned runs in 2 1/3 innings, taking a no-decision in Tuesday’s loss to the Tigers

Advice: Allen was chased by the Tigers in the third inning, marking his shortest outing of the season. His ERA increased to 6.41 after what was easily his worst outing of the year. Allen has just one quality start in eight tries this season. The 25-year-old southpaw will have a plus matchup in his next start as he’s scheduled to face the White Sox on Sunday. • Suffers arm fracture
Contreras fractured his left arm during Tuesday's game against the Mets, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Contreras had to leave Tuesday's contest in the second inning after his arm was struck by a J.D. Martinez swing. He will almost certainly spend an extended period of time on the injured list, leaving Ivan Herrera as the Cardinals' new primary catcher. Pedro Pages was pulled from his game at Triple-A Memphis shortly after Contreras went down and may be promoted to serve as Herrera's backup. Rotowire.com Today, 5:49 pm

    • Willson Contreras suffers fractured left forearm
Willson Contreras was removed from Tuesday’s showdown against the Mets with a fractured left forearm.

Advice: Brutal. Contreras was struck directly on the left forearm by a swing, not a backswing, from Mets designated hitter J.D. Martinez and was immediately lifted from the contest. The 31-year-old backstop is facing a lengthy absence, which is a significant loss for the Cardinals, and fantasy managers as well. It’ll be Iván Herrera handling the bulk of the catching duties with Pedro Pagés coming back up from Triple-A Memphis. Rotoworld Today, 5:40 pm

    • Gerrit Cole throws another bullpen session Tuesday
Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: Cole is scheduled to throw another bullpen session this weekend and is apparently looking at a mid-June return timetable at this point. The 33-year-old reigning AL Cy Young Award winner should progress to facing hitters at some point in the coming weeks before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Today, 5:32 pm

    • Willson Contreras leaves game with arm injury
Willson Contreras was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Mets with an apparent right forearm injury.

Advice: Contreras was in serious pain after taking a J.D. Martinez swing, not a backswing, directly to the left forearm area just below his elbow. We hate to speculate here, but it didn’t look good. There should be an update on his status at some time later this evening following some imaging, but he’s likely going to wind up missing some time. • Exits with hand injury
Contreras was removed from Tuesday's game against the Mets with an apparent left hand injury, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Contreras was hit in the hand by a J.D. Martinez swing during the second inning of Tuesday's contest, and he appeared to be in a significant amount of pain before walking off the field. The 31-year-old backstop will almost certainly go in for X-rays, and the Cardinals should offer an update on his status in the near future. Rotowire.com Today, 5:18 pm
