    • Resumes flat-ground work
Cabrera (shoulder) played catch from 60 feet Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cabrera had to be shut down again after throwing a bullpen session on May 17, but he's been cleared to try to ramp things back up. The right-hander has been on the injured list on two occasions this season with a right shoulder issue and there is currently no timetable for his return. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:38 pm

    • Nearing rehab assignment
Conforto (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment later this week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Advice: Conforto was cleared to resume baseball activities last week as he works his way back from a right hamstring strain, although it's uncertain whether he's done any running yet. He's been on the shelf for a little more than two weeks and shouldn't need too many rehab games before being activated, assuming all goes well. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:00 pm

    • Michael Conforto could start rehab this week
Michael Conforto (hamstring) could start a rehab assignment later this week.

Advice: Fellow outfielder Austin Slater (concussion) is starting a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, and Conforto could join him later in the week. The 31-year-old is off to a tremendous start with a .280/.331/.490 slash line and seven home runs in 38 games. He was placed on the IL on May 12th and his return to the active roster could be bad news for one of Luis Matos or Heliot Ramos, who have been playing regularly since Conforto was injured. • Hitting streak reaches 19
Volpe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a steal and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Advice: Volpe extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a single in the sixth inning. He would then steal second and come around to score off a Juan Soto double to open up the scoring and force Joe Musgrove out of the game. His hit streak is the longest by a Yankee since Derek Jeter in 2012. Volpe is currently tied for sixth in the American League with 61 hits and tied for fifth with 11 steals. The 23-year-old has been thriving in the leadoff spot for the majority of the season and is now slashing .282/.355/.435 with 18 extra-base hits, 23 RBI, 36 runs and a 22:52 BB:K in 244 plate appearances. • Sitting against another righty
Santana is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Santana will hit the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Alec Marsh) for the third time in five games. The downturn in opportunities comes while Santana has fallen into a 5-for-33 skid at the plate (.152 average) over his last 10 starts, bringing his slash line down to .201/.282/.361 over 188 plate appearances on the season. The Minnesota infield will become more crowded when Royce Lewis (quadricep) returns from the 10-day injured list, potentially as soon as later this week, so Santana could be on the way out of the everyday lineup, if he hasn't lost his spot already. • Moves down order amid slump
Julien went 0-for-2 in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. He was moved down to eighth in the lineup against a right-handed starter amid a 1-for-25 slump that has lowered his batting average to .199 and his OPS to .674.

Advice: Julien also has just one walk over his last eight games as well as his struggles since the end of April have accelerated. He was hitting just .147 with a .418 OPS over his last 24 games before Sunday. Moving him down in the order from his usual leadoff spot against right-handed pitchers is a sign of his recent troubles. His slump has lasted long enough that he may start to lose playing time and it's not out of the question that he could face a trip to the minors to get him back on track . • Improves to 5-0
Blanco (5-0) allowed a run on four hits and a walk over seven innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Athletics.

Advice: Blanco fired five scoreless frames before coughing up a solo shot to Max Schuemann in the sixth inning. It was Blanco's first start since May 14 after serving a suspension for using a foreign substance. He forced 17 swinging strikes, including seven with his slider. It was the third time in nine starts that he's reached that number. Blanco lowered his ERA to a stellar 1.99 with a 51:22 K:BB through 54.1 frames. His next start is projected to be at home against the Twins. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:56 pm

    • Picks up ninth save
Jansen pitched a flawless ninth inning and picked up the save Sunday against Milwaukee. He struck out two.

Advice: Jansen notched his ninth save of the season, preserving a 2-1 Boston lead in the ninth inning. The right-hander continues to have a firm grip on the Boston closer role, as no other Boston reliever has registered more than two saves this season. The 36-year-old veteran is now 9-for-10 in save chances this season with a 3.06 ERA. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:53 pm

    • Kenley Jansen perfect in earning ninth save
Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect ninth, striking out two, for a save Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Jansen’s save was his ninth in 10 chances. He’ll be a trade candidate this summer and there’s the chance he’ll go to a team that won’t employ him as a closer, but he’s a top-15 reliever for now. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:18 pm
