    • May require rehab assignment
Manager Matt Quatraro said Friday that sending Marsh (elbow) on a rehab assignment before returning from the IL "would be a smart thing to do," Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Marsh has been on the injured list since April 25 due to a bruised right elbow. He threw a bullpen session Monday and did so again Friday, though he will likely need to face live hitters before he makes his rehab appearance. Rotowire.com Today, 2:46 pm

    • Progresses to batting practice
Suzuki (oblique) took on-field batting practice Wednesday, Meghan Montemurro and LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune report.

Advice: It's the first time he's taken BP since he suffered a right oblique strain April 14. Suzuki estimated that he's 80 percent recovered from the injury, and he could begin a rehab assignment next week if he continues trending in the right direction. A return to the Cubs' active roster by mid-May looks doable for the outfielder. Rotowire.com Today, 6:14 am

    • Takes first loss
Parker (2-1) took the loss against Texas on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Parker had his least-effective outing through four big-league starts, giving up a season-high three runs while taking his first career loss. The southpaw still managed to keep Washington within striking distance, but the Nationals' offense failed to scratch against four Rangers pitchers. Parker's ERA is still a commendable 2.53, and it's supported by a strong 1.08 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB through 21.1 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:45 pm
    • Mitchell Parker allows three runs in loss to Rangers
Mitchell Parker allowed three runs over 5 1/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Parker got into trouble in the third inning when he gave up a trio of run-scoring hits, which accounted for all of the damage against him. He struck out five and only issued a pair of walks. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander has allowed three earned runs or fewer in four consecutive outings since getting the call to the majors back on April 15, but he’s struggled to work deep into contests. He’ll bring a respectable 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 19/4 K/BB ratio across 21 1/3 innings (four starts) into a tough home outing on Wednesday against the Orioles. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:09 pm
    • Report: Paul Skenes starting Sunday at Triple-A
MLP Pipeline’s Jonathan Mayo reports Paul Skenes will make his next start on Sunday for Triple-A Indianapolis.

Advice: There was some social media buzz that Skenes could get the call this weekend to join Pittsburgh’s starting rotation, but that doesn’t appear to be in the cards. The 21-year-old top pitching prospect has reeled off six dominant outings at Triple-A Indianapolis to open the year, posting a surreal 0.39 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 41/6 K/BB ratio across 23 innings of work. It’s not going to be much longer, but it doesn’t appear that Skenes is coming up this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:46 pm

    • Making another Triple-A start
Skenes' next start will come Sunday at Triple-A Indianapolis against Buffalo.

Advice: Skenes got stretched out to six innings and 75 pitches in his last outing with Indianapolis on Tuesday, leading some to wonder whether his next start might come with the Pirates. However, he is set to remain with Indy for at least one more turn. Skenes has been utterly dominant against Triple-A hitters, posting a 0.39 ERA with 41 strikeouts over 23 innings. Fantasy managers shouldn't have to wait too much longer for the top prospect's major-league debut. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:53 am

    • Notches fourth homer
Cabrera went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a stolen base during Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Cabrera tagged Corbin Burnes for a two-run shot in the fifth inning, plating Jose Trevino for the Yankees' only runs. The long ball was Cabrera's first since April 13. His two hits were his first of the series, entering Wednesday's contest 0-for-7 in the first two games of the four-game bill. Through 110 plate appearances, Cabrera is slashing .262/.300/.417 with 18 RBI and two stolen bases. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 9:58 pm

    • Oswaldo Cabrera powers Yankees past Orioles
Oswaldo Cabrera swatted a two-run homer off of Corbin Burnes on Wednesday night, powering the Yankees to a 2-0 victory over the Orioles in Baltimore.

Advice: Cabrera accounted for the only scoring for either team in the ballgame, poking a 352-foot (103.3 mph EV) two-out, two-run homer just over the wall in right field and just inside the foul pole to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning. He also singled in the ballgame and swiped a base, finishing the night 2-for-3. On the season, the versatile 25-year-old is now hitting .262/.300/.417 with four homers, 18 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Rotoworld Wednesday, 6:09 pm

    • Mason Miller silences Pirates in non-save spot
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

Advice: Miller got the call to protect a four-run lead in the final frame after needing 16 pitches to close out Tuesday’s victory less than 24 hours ago. He got Jack Suwinski to ground out and fanned Henry Davis before coaxing a game-ending ground out from Ke’Bryan Hayes. He averaged 100.8 mph on his fastball and needed just 10 pitches to spin a perfect frame. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has reeled off 12 consecutive scoreless appearances since April 2, and has converted eight saves to go along with a microscopic 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings of work. Simply put, he’s one of the best relievers in baseball already. Rotoworld Wednesday, 3:07 pm
