    • Jeff McNeil gets right with three hits, home run
Jeff McNeil went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored in the Mets’ 7-2 win over the Astros on Friday.

Advice: McNeil has been waiting all season for a game like this. The home run was his first at Citi Field since September 24th of last year and oddly his first long ball this season outside the state of Ohio. The signs of life are encouraging, but McNeil’s batting average still sits at a lowly .221. Even a minor hot streak would make him worth a look in deeper leagues since the Mets continue to start him every day. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

    • Throws six scoreless innings in win
Eflin (4-5) earned the win against the Nationals on Friday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out six over six scoreless innings.

Advice: Eflin threw 66 of 93 pitches for strikes and earned his first victory since May 13 and first quality start since May 7. The 30-year-old has now recorded at least six strikeouts over each of his past three outings and has only walked three batters in 28.1 June innings. On the season, Eflin owns a 3.92 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 69:7 K:BB over 87.1 innings and lines up to face the Royals next week. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

    • Zach Eflin hurls six scoreless in win over Nats
Zach Eflin was terrific in Friday night’s victory over the Nationals, punching out six batters over six innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: Eflin scattered just four hits and one walk on the night. Only once did an opposing hitter advance past second base in the game, and that was Jacob Young who advanced to third on a ground ball after his leadoff double in the third inning and was then thrown out at home on a fielder’s choice. The 30-year-old right-hander generated 11 swings and misses on 93 pitches in the ballgame — five of those on his curveball — while posting a CSW of 29 percent. Eflin will tote a 3.92 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 69/7 K/BB ratio (87 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the Royals in Kansas City. Rotoworld Today, 6:26 pm

    • Anthony Rendon to face live pitching next week
Angels’ manager Ron Washington told reporters on Friday that Anthony Rendon will face live pitching late next week.

Advice: The 34-year-old third baseman is nearing the end of his recovery from a torn left hamstring and is closing in on a return to the Angels’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list in April, Rendon had been hitting .267/.325/.307 with zero homers, three RBI and three stolen bases through his first 83 plate appearances on the season. • Swing test pushed back
Jung (wrist) will have his swing test pushed back to Saturday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung was slated to swing a bat Friday, but he'll have that evaluation pushed back a day. He has been on the injured list since April 2 with a fractured right wrist, and his rehab program with Triple-A Round Rock was shut down due to tendon inflammation. Jung could be activated off the injured list soon if his swing test Saturday goes well, though he'll likely be eased back into the action with planned off days if he does return. • Starting Friday
Correa (wrist) is playing shortstop and batting second Friday against Seattle.

Advice: Correa was removed from Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch, but he won't require a day off due to the bruised right wrist. He went 4-for-9 with four runs and two RBI during the Twins' three-game series against Arizona. Rotowire.com Today, 2:10 pm

    • Carlos Correa (wrist) returns to lineup on Friday
Carlos Correa (wrist) returned to the Twins’ starting lineup for Friday night’s series opener against the Mariners.

Advice: The 29-year-old shortstop was drilled in the right wrist by a fastball during Thursday’s game against the Diamondbacks. Correa told reporters afterwards that he was fine though and that he planned to play on Friday, and true to his word he’s in the lineup and batting second against Logan Gilbert and the M’s on Friday evening in Seattle. On the season, Correa is slashing a healthy .309/.380/.494 to go along with eight homers and 38 RBI in 267 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 2:08 pm

    • Out against left-hander
Lowe is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: With southpaw Mitchell Parker on the hill for the Nationals, the left-handed hitting Lowe will begin this one on the bench. Jonny DeLuca will occupy right field. Rotowire.com Today, 12:08 pm

    • Will swing bat Friday
Jung (wrist) will attempt to swing a bat Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung's return has been delayed due to inflammation in his surgically repaired right wrist, but he's ready to test things out swinging a bat after resting for a week and receiving a cortisone shot. The third baseman could be activated soon if things go well in the cage Friday, but when Jung does return he might be eased back into action by playing every other day or receiving one off day per series, according to Grant. Jung has been sidelined since early April. Rotowire.com Today, 11:57 am
