    • Ryan Helsey records 13th save in win over Angels
Ryan Helsley recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Tuesday.

Advice: Helsley pitched a whole lot during April, but it definitely hasn’t caused any problems yet; he’s posted his best velocity numbers of the year his last two times out, averaging 101.0 mph with his fastball on Sunday and 100.7 mph tonight. He’s gone 14 straight appearances without allowing an earned run and the one unearned run he’s given up during the stretch was an automatic runner in the 10th inning. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm
    • Earns save No. 13
Helsley allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

Advice: Helsley has a win and six saves during his nine-inning scoreless streak, a span that's seen him allowed six hits and one walk while striking out 11. The right-hander is 13-for-14 in save chances this season with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 20 innings. Helsley seems to be benefiting from being the standalone closer as opposed to part of a committee. His career high in saves is 19 in 2022, a mark he should be able to shatter as long as he doesn't add to his lengthy injury history. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm
    • Quality in no-decision
Manaea did not factor into the decision Monday against the Phillies, allowing one run on four hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: With his effort Monday night, Manaea secured his second straight quality start of six innings, lowering his season ERA to 3.05 over 41.1 innings. Even more encouragingly, the Mets lefty issued only one walk for his second consecutive start after issuing multiple free passes in all his previous six starts. He is slated to face the Marlins on the road in his next start this weekend. Rotowire.com Monday, 8:07 pm

    • Sean Manaea tosses six frames against Phillies
Sean Manaea surrendered one run over six innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: Manaea coughed up a run in the opening frame, but managed to keep the Phillies scoreless over his final five innings of work. He struck out six and only issued one walk. The 32-year-old lefty has allowed three earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts to kick off his Mets debut. He’ll bring a strong 3.05 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 37/20 K/BB ratio across 41 1/3 innings (eight starts) into an extremely favorable road matchup on Saturday against the last-place Marlins. • Slams door for save
Helsley struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over Milwaukee on Sunday.

Advice: Helsley needed only 12 pitches (10 strikes) to quickly close out the 4-3 victory. Since blowing a save in his season debut, he's converted 12 consecutive chances. During that stretch, Helsley has given up just one earned run over 18 frames, lowering his season ERA to 1.42 alongside a 21:2 K:BB. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:51 pm
    • Ryan Helsley perfect in earning 12th save
Ryan Helsley notched his 12th save with a perfect ninth against the Brewers on Sunday.

Advice: Helsey struck out two. He’s been credited with a win or a save in 87.5% of the Cardinals’ 16 victories this season. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:46 pm
    • Picks up 12th save
Holmes earned the save in Friday's 2-0 win over the Rays, working around a hit and two walks while striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: The Rays loaded the bases against Holmes in the ninth before the right-hander struck out Jonny DeLuca for the final out. Holmes has yet to allow an earned run this year, pitching to a 1.04 WHIP with 21:3 K:BB over 17.1 innings. He's up to 12 saves, tied with Kyle Finnegan and Robert Suarez for the league lead. • Clay Holmes walks tightrope, escapes with save
Clay Holmes walked the tightrope in the ninth inning on Friday night, but escaped with his 12th save of the season after stranding the bases loaded with a two-run lead.

Advice: Holmes — who has yet to allow an earned run through 17 1/3 innings to begin the season — really had to work in this one. He issued a leadoff walk to Yandy Díaz and a one-out walk to Josh Lowe — striking out Randy Arozarena and Isaac Paredes in-between. He then allowed a two-out single to Austin Shenton that loaded the bases before striking out Jonny DeLuca after a six-pitch battle to end it. He now paces the league with 12 saves and has a 21/3 K/BB ratio to go along with it. Rotoworld Friday, 6:33 pm

    • Grounds Cardinals in quality start
Manaea (2-1) earned the win over St. Louis on Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one batter over six innings.

Advice: Manaea didn't have his swing-and-miss stuff Monday -- he induced just four whiffs and recorded only one strikeout -- but that didn't stop him from keeping the Cardinals' bats mostly under control. The southpaw cruised through five scoreless frames before running out of gas in a three-run St. Louis sixth, but he was able to finish the inning to notch his first quality start since his first appearance of the campaign. Control issues have kept Manaea from going deep into contests this season, so it was promising to see him issue just one free pass -- his fewest of the campaign -- against the Cardinals.
