    • Héctor Neris collects third SV of season Thursday
Héctor Neris fired a scoreless ninth to pick up a save Thursday against the Astros.

Advice: Neris did make things interesting, as he walked a pair of hitters to put the go-ahead run at the plate. Ultimately the 34-year-old was able to get the job done, and he now has three saves on the season after not opening the year in the closing role. Rotoworld Today, 2:09 pm

    • Justin Verlander fires 4 1/3 scoreless vs. Cubs
Justin Verlander didn’t give up a run over 4 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision against the Cubs on Thursday.

Advice: Verlander allowed just three hits, but the seven punchouts along with four walks worked the pitch count up enough for him to not qualify for a decision. The right-hander gave up just one extra-base hit — a double by Nico Hoerner — and while he did have some control issues, the stuff looked solid in his second start of 2024. Verlander is back on the bump next week against the Guardians. Rotoworld Today, 2:09 pm
    • Smacks two homers in win
Lindor went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Wednesday's win over the Giants.

Advice: Lindor provided most of the offense for the Mets on Wednesday, launching a two-run homer in the top of the third to put New York on the board before adding a second two-run shot in the ninth. The shortstop finished with season highs in hits and RBI, raising his average to .206 in the process. Lindor has gotten off to a slow start to begin the campaign but has now registered multiple hits in five of his last 10 games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 am
    • Slugs second homer
Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Padres on Wednesday.

Advice: Diaz accounted for half of the Rockies' runs in the contest with his solo shot to center field in the eighth inning. The blast snapped a 19-game homerless drought for the backstop, who belted 14 long balls last season. Despite the modest power output thus far, Diaz has had a nice start to the campaign with a .312/.357/.429 slash line and 11 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:52 pm

    • Picks up save No. 9
Suarez earned a save against the Rockies on Wednesday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning.

Advice: Suarez needed just seven pitches (five of which were strikes) to set the Rockies down in order and preserve a three-run San Diego victory. The right-hander extended his streak of scoreless outings to nine and lowered his sterling ERA to 0.77. Suarez has been one of the league's best closers so far this season with nine saves (tied for first in MLB). Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:43 pm
    • Spencer Turnbull strong for five in no-decision
Spencer Turnbull turned in five innings of one-run ball and struck out eight Wednesday against the Reds.

Advice: It was another sterling effort from Turnbull, but since Taijuan Walker is back, it might have been his final start for a while. The Phillies just aren’t prepared to make a change there, even though Turnbull has a 1.33 ERA in five starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:57 pm
    • Strikes out eight Wednesday
Turnbull didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Cincinnati, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: It was another strong effort from Turnbull, who set a season high with eight strikeouts while allowing just one run on a Will Benson solo homer in the third inning. Turnbull has been exceptional to start the year, going 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB through 27 innings. Still, with Taijuan Walker (shoulder) returning from the IL, Turnbull will head to the bullpen in an effort to manage his innings. The right-hander figures to be first in line should the Phillies need help in the rotation later this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:59 pm
    • Elias Díaz slugs solo homer in loss to Padres
Elias Díaz went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday against the Padres.

Advice: After knocking a base hit in the fourth inning, Díaz hit his second home run of the season with a solo shot in the eighth. He got some help on this one as his deep fly ball bounced off the glove of Jackson Merrill and over the outfield wall. It counts all the same. The 33-year-old backstop is hitting .312/.357/.429 with the two homers and 11 RBI across 84 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:11 pm

    • Robert Suarez locks down ninth save vs. Rockies
Robert Suarez struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning to secure the save against the Rockies.

Advice: Suarez was given a three-run lead to protect in the ninth inning. He worked quickly, striking out one batter and closing it out on seven pitches for his league-leading ninth save of the season. The 33-year-old right-hander holds a 0.77 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 10/4 K/BB ratio across 11 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:10 pm
