    • Shea Langeliers belts first career grand slam
Shea Langeliers belted the first grand slam of his big-league career on Friday night, unfortunately it came in a losing effort against the Twins.

Advice: The 26-year-old backstop got the Athletics’ offense started with a bang on Friday night, tagging Simeon Woods Richardson for a 408-foot (102.8 mph EV) four-run blast on the first pitch that he saw in the first inning. That would be hit only hit on the night, finishing the evening 1-for-5. Rotoworld Today, 8:44 pm
    • Hunter Brown dominates in victory over Tigers
Hunter Brown delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, racking up nine strikeouts over seven innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander didn’t walk a batter on the night and all five of the hits that he allowed were singles. Brown generated 15 swings and misses on 96 pitches on the night — four or more on each of his sinker, cutter and slider — while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine performance as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 76/29 K/BB ratio (68 1/3 innings) into Thursday’s showdown against the White Sox in Chicago. • Stymies Tigers in victory
Brown (3-5) earned the win Friday against Detroit, allowing five hits and no walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: Brown entered this evening on a hot streak, firing a 2.25 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB in 24 innings over his last four starts. He kept that stellar work rolling, generating 15 whiffs en route to nine punchouts, equaling his season-high strikeout mark in a game also reached May 28. The Houston right-hander has been an ace-level pitcher since May 1, going 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB in 45.1 innings over seven starts. Brown is slated to face the White Sox on the road in his next outing. Rotowire.com Today, 8:04 pm

    • Rockies place Elias Díaz (calf) on 10-day IL
Rockies placed C Elias Díaz on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 11, with a left calf strain.

Advice: The 33-year-old backstop tried to take things on a day-to-day basis, but ultimately the Rockies thought that it would be better to sit him down for an extended period of time to allow him to fully heal. Nolan Jones was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move on Friday. Rotoworld Today, 2:59 pm

    • Lands on IL with calf strain
The Rockies placed Diaz on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left calf strain, retroactive to June 11.

Advice: Diaz was removed in the bottom half of the first inning of Monday's game against the Twins after straining his left calf while running out of the batter's box to first base. He was held out for the rest of the series against Minnesota with the hope he would be available for the weekend series against Pittsburgh, but the 33-year-old catcher will be on the shelf for an extended period of time. Jacob Stallings got the start for Diaz over the last two games of the series against the Twins, and the former figures to get most of the starts behind home plate in the latter's absence, though Hunter Goodman will provide some depth and will start at catcher for Saturday's game, per Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com. • Still not doing on-field work
Tucker (lower leg) won't play in Saturday's game against Detroit and has yet to participate in on-field activities, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

Advice: There was initially optimism that Tucker would be able to return once eligible Friday, but a return doesn't seem imminent considering the 27-year-old hasn't resumed baseball activities yet and has already been ruled out for Saturday's game. The Astros could keep Tucker out through the weekend and activate him for a three-game road series against the White Sox that kicks off Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 2:20 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) won’t be ready on Saturday
Astros’ manager Joe Espada told reporters on Friday that Kyle Tucker (shin) will not be ready to be activated from the injured list on Saturday.

Advice: While he noted that Tucker is “moving in the right direction” he also admitted that Tucker is not doing baseball activities yet. While a return at some point over the weekend hasn’t been ruled out yet, it seems unlikely if he’s not doing any baseball activities yet. A more likely scenario has the 27-year-old superstar outfielder returning to action next week. Rotoworld Today, 2:10 pm

    • Escapes jam for hold
Robertson allowed one hit, hit a batter and struck out three over a scoreless eighth inning Thursday, earning a hold in a 3-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Robertson put the first two batters he faced aboard, setting up a rematch with the top of the Dodgers' lineup after he had struck out Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman on Wednesday to preserve a Texas lead. Robertson proceeded to do the same exact thing Thursday. The veteran reliever has 14 holds this season to go with a 3.19 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 36.2 percent strikeout rate, his highest mark since 2017. • Gets rout started
Walker went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's 11-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: Walker told Steve Gilbert of MLB.com that he was not happy with how he was handling fastballs, so he put in extra work in the batting cage this week. It paid off immediately when Walker belted a three-run homer off a four-seamer in the first inning to give Arizona a 3-0 lead. "I've been missing fastballs [and fouling them] straight back a little bit and it's been bothering me," Walker said. He followed that up a solo shot in the third -- a slider this time. The first baseman has three long balls over the last two games and leads the team with 15 home runs and 46 RBI through 69 contests. Rotowire.com Today, 4:47 am
