      Corbin Carroll went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and five RBI in a win over the Reds on Tuesday.

      Advice: This was a much-needed big game for Carroll, who is still slashing just .211/.300/.278 on the season with two home runs and 12 RBI. The home run was well-struck at 104.3 mph off the bat and traveling 390 feet. While that’s great, it was the only ball on the day that Carroll hit over 87 mph. It doesn’t make sense to trade Carroll away while his value is so low, but we’ll need to see more consistent quality contact before we can be sure he’s fully healthy or ready for a hot stretch.       Seiya Suzuki (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Iowa.

      Advice: Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters Suzuki is likely to return to Chicago’s lineup later this week on either Friday or Saturday when they take on the Pirates.       Advice: Rodriguez expressed optimism to reporters that he could return to Baltimore’s starting rotation following a minimum stay on the 15-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. It certainly doesn’t sound like there are any long-term concerns with the 24-year-old burgeoning ace.       Advice: Rodriguez has battled inflammation in his shoulder throughout May. However, per Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, his move to the 15-day IL was to prevent the issue from developing into anything more serious, and he could return to the O's without a rehab start.
