      Josh Smith went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored in Tuesday’s win over the Nationals.



      Advice: Smith hit his second homer of the season, a solo blast, off of Jordan Weems in the bottom up the sixth to give the Rangers a 3-1 lead. It was the second of two hits for Smith on the night, as the young third baseman has filled in admirably for Josh Jung and is now slashing .317/.417/.500 through the first month of the season. With Jung out for at least 4-6 more weeks, Smith should continue to have some low-end fantasy upside batting in a Rangers offense that ranked 14th in runs scored heading into the day.       Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Seattle.

      Advice: Smith launched his first homer of the season in the fourth inning, which tied the game momentarily before the Mariners plated two a half-inning later. He got the start at shortstop while primary starter Corey Seager served as DH a day after he left a game with a bruised shin. If Seager is limited to DH for a bit, Smith will be the primary fill-in at short. If Seager is ready for a defensive role, then Smith will go back to sharing third base with Ezequiel Duran.
