  • Dane Myers drives in two as Marlins top Rockies
Dane Myers delivered a pinch-hit, two-run single in the eighth inning on Wednesday, helping to lead the Marlins to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Rockies.

Advice: The 28-year-old outfielder came on to bat for Christian Bethancourt with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth inning. He responded by lining a 1-1 offering from Nick Mears into right field for a two-run single to provide the Marlins with a pair of valuable insurance runs. He’s now 4-for-8 (.500) with a pair of runs scored and five RBI since being recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday. Rotoworld 19 minutes ago

  • Oswaldo Cabrera powers Yankees past Orioles
Oswaldo Cabrera swatted a two-run homer off of Corbin Burnes on Wednesday night, powering the Yankees to a 2-0 victory over the Orioles in Baltimore.

Advice: Cabrera accounted for the only scoring for either team in the ballgame, poking a 352-foot (103.3 mph EV) two-out, two-run homer just over the wall in right field and just inside the foul pole to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning. He also singled in the ballgame and swiped a base, finishing the night 2-for-3. On the season, the versatile 25-year-old is now hitting .262/.300/.417 with four homers, 18 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

  • Juan Soto swipes two bases as Yankees defeat O’s
Juan Soto singled, walked and stole a pair of bases as the Yankees triumphed over the Orioles on Wednesday evening in Baltimore.

Advice: Soto smacked a one-out single off of Corbin Burnes in the top half of the first inning and swiped second base before being stranded there. He then worked a leadoff walk in the sixth inning, and once again nabbed second before being thrown out trying to steal third. On the season, the 25-year-old superstar is now hitting .325/.439/.575 to go along with eight homers, 25 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago
  • Ryan O’Hearn reaches twice in loss to Yankees
Ryan O’Hearn went 1-for-3 with a single and a walk as the Orioles were shut out at home by the Yankees on Wednesday evening.

Advice: As a team, the Orioles were only able to muster three singles and a pair of walks against Luis Gil and a host of Yankees’ relievers. O’Hearn was the only member of his squad to reach base twice. The 30-year-old is off to a nice start to his 2024 season, slashing .300/.380/.543 with four homers and nine RBI through his first 79 plate appearances. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

  • Angels release veteran outfielder Aaron Hicks
    Angels released OF Aaron Hicks.

Advice: The 34-year-old outfielder had been designated for assignment earlier in the week. He passed through waivers unclaimed and was granted his outright release. He’s now free to latch on elsewhere if any teams are in the market for a switch-hitting outfielder that was batting .140/.222/.193 during his time with the Halos. Rotoworld Today, 5:41 pm

  • Has big game Wednesday
Vierling went 2-for-3 with a home run, an additional run scored and three total RBI in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Vierling connected for a two-run shot in the third inning, his third home run of the season, then drove in another run on a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The 27-year-old has been seeing regular time at third base with Gio Urshela (hamstring) out, and Vierling has responded with a solid .282 average and .758 OPS, giving him decent short-term fantasy value. • Ends up on injured list
The Astros placed McCormick on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to right hamstring discomfort, retroactive to Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Joe Espada said Wednesday that the Astros were debating placing McCormick on the injured list, and the team ultimately decided sitting him down for another week is the best course of action. The 29-year-old outfielder likely won't require more than a minimum stay on the IL, so he may be able to return to the lineup when eligible May 8. Jacob Amaya was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Today, 4:33 pm
  • Astros place Chas McCormick on 10-day IL
Astros placed OF Chas McCormick on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 28, with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Astros’ manager Joe Espada had mentioned earlier in the day that McCormick may need a stint on the injured list, and after attempting to go through a pregame workout on Wednesday the determination was made. Jacob Amaya was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 4:19 pm
  • Kyle Schwarber’s two-run single enough vs. Halos
Kyle Schwarber smacked a two-run single on Wednesday, lifting the Phillies to a 2-1 victory over the Angels.

Advice: Schwarber’s second-inning two-run single off Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval represented Philadelphia’s only offensive production of a low-scoring contest out in Los Angeles. It wound up being enough as Zack Wheeler and a quartet of relievers managed to limit the Angels to just one run on 10 hits. Rotoworld Today, 4:10 pm
